    Good evening -

I hope everyone is enjoying the story of Ruth. Just a few clarifications for those of you who may not have text notes in your Bibles. First of all, when Naomi sends Ruth to Boaz in the threshing room, Ruth has adorned herself as a bride and her act of uncovering Boaz's feet was an invitation to marriage. Secondly, Boaz is interested but recognizes the duty of the nearer kinsman as is described in the Levitical code (Dueteronomy 25:5-10). Lastly, Boaz has done all that is required but goes an extra step by sending back with Ruth the barley he pours into her shawl.

In 1Corinthians, Paul uses an anology of a seed germinating into a plant to describe the ressurrection body. Evidently some of the folks in Corinth were doubting the actual Ressurection of Christ and Paul was dispeling their heresy. An interesting side-note here is that verse 33 is a quote from the Greek comedy "Thaos", a play with which the Corinthians would have been familiar. It would be similar to us quoting Shakespeare or even better, a line from a movie.

    May God bless you

    - Clint
