ARBCA requires full subscription to the 1689 Baptist Confession.
The secessions have been over Art 2;1, specifically the question of God being 'without passions' which has been discussed on this forum.
I understand the parting of the ways has been as amicable as these things can be, and those who have left still follow the 1689 Confession on other matters.

So the excluded brethren are forming a less partisan group, the "Reformed Baptist Network"?

Gordon Taylor is the immediate past Coodinator of ARBCA (2007-2015). His predecessor Bob Selph (ARBCA Coordinator, 1999-2007) also seems to be involved with the new group.

"Full member churches" reminds me of Francis Wayland (c. 1850) saying:
"Baptist churches can not be represented."

When Gordon was the Coordinator, he & I had a conversation about planting a church in NW New Jersey & he basically denied the need for one. Now he is involved with this spin off?!? RolleyesLaugh Good Luck GordoRoflmao

So....there were 80 churches......down to 59.....but the second group has 40.......that means there are now 99....RB churches sounds like growth!
Those who would make fun of predestination ......no need to apply in either group as you would not be comfortable with those who grasp these truths.

I think you read that wrong Tony. The post clearly states that ARBCA churches are diminishing, not Reformed Baptists. I'm personally praying that this group of RB's has more reach into areas like mine that are void of ANY solid Christian Churches......that would be a God send (in my eyes at least)!

    Check out this agenda.....

...Our chief aim will be to arouse believers to action, and to suggest to them plans by which the kingdom of Jesus may be extended. To widen the bounds of Zion and gather together the outcasts of Israel is our heart’s desire. We would sound the trumpet, and lead our comrades to the fight. We would ply the Trowel with untiring hand for the building up of Jerusalem’s dilapidated walls, and wield the Sword with rigor and valor against the enemies of the truth. Whistling

None at all, I'm afraid. To the best of my knowledge, ARBCA continues on its own sweet way, albeit diminished in number, and the new body goes forward boldly.

Regrettable as they are, sometimes God uses these sorts of splits to His glory. When Paul and Barnabus split up, there were two groups of evangelists going around the Mediterranean instead of one. :)

I hope you get your RB church in New Jersey, EWF. Another American friend of mine is hoping for one near Boston.

Are there any numbers out there for total Reformed Baptist churches and membership? The only thing I could find stated 400 churches, but it was from 2000.

Thanks Steve.....FYI there is a very small church about 45 Min to 1 hr away that is an independent baptist church that is 1689 but again they are a distance & not in my community. My prayers are that one would church plant in a closer location so I could serve my neighborhood community. But its in His hands & I need to be Faithful.

    Be well brother

Association of Reformed Baptist Churches of America is now down to less than twenty churches, with only two east of the Mississippi.

The microdenomination's seminary in the Dallas-Fort Worth area is waiving a whole year's tuition to sign up for its MDiv:

I was surprised to find that 7 of the 19 are in Texas.
There is a report on Reformed Baptist Churches for 2010 at the Association of Religion Data Archives. If I added these correctly -- which very likely I did not -- they have a total of 343 on ARDA. I think this is from the 2010 ASARB count (Association of Statisticians of American Religious Bodies).
