OK lazybones, I'll do your research for you, citing just a few of many examples. Then you can publicly apologize for your error.
Bush 41's administration made an all out assault on Clinton's patriotism during the '92 campaign. Article at http://www.consortiumnews.com/2004/101804.html

John McCain campaign ad from 2000 - "George Bush twists the truth like Bill Clinton"

How about House Government Reform Committee Chairman Dan Burton's calling the President a 'scumbag"? Isn't that a bit personal?

Or now-disgraced Tom Delay's remark that Clinton was "a president who hides behind his lawyers, who stonewalls the truth, who employs attack dogs whose only purpose is to destroy the reputations ofthe innocent victims?"

Both of those are in the article below. Now, about that apology, or at least admitting you are wrong.

    -----------------------------------------
Republican Whip Renews Attack On Clinton

    By John King/CNN

WASHINGTON (April 24) -- House Republican Whip Tom DeLay renewed his attacks on President Bill Clinton's integrity on Friday, playing off Democratic outrage that a GOP House committee chairman called the president a "scumbag."
In a sarcastic "open letter" to the House Democratic leadership, DeLay suggested a House debate to determine just what language can be used to describe "an administration that relies on spin, the whole spinand nothing but the spin?
"What should we call a president who hides behind his lawyers, who stonewalls the truth, who employs attack dogs whose only purpose is to destroy the reputations of the innocent victims? I look forward to hearing your response," the letter read.
The president was asked Friday if he wanted to respond to House Government Reform Committee Chairman Dan Burton's "scumbag" remarks, and declined to directly respond.
Clinton said he had made it a policy to ignore personal attacks, saying: "A president cannot repair the breaches in the country, cannot unify a country and cannot lift its vision if he takes personally personal assaults. You can't do it. You just have to blow it off and think about something else.

    Scumbag?

Delay questioned Clinton's integrity by making the observation, "What should we call a president who hides behind his lawyers, who stonewalls the truth, who employs attack dogs whose only purpose is to destroy the reputations of the innocent victims? I look forward to hearing your response," the letter read. All of which was true.

Which comes down to one name called, Scumbag, and it was wrong to do so.

    That's all you have?

Thank you for making my case for me and for proving beyond doubt that you are, without doubt, blinded by your ideology.

What constitutional liberty? Are you talking about voice intercept of international phone calls to and from terrorist sympathizers?

If you do not want your phone calls intercepted, do not commit an act of terror and get on the terror watch list.

    Simple?

    I tho't so.

Carpro, the only thing that has been proven is your diehard position is held despite evidence provided to the contrary from the massive amount out there. It would matter not how many examples you were given, you choose to ignore and mock. Google is your friend, but only if you seek truth. I even did some research for you, yet you persist in your blindness. Or maybe you just hate to be proven wrong. In any case, this thread is there for all to see.

I expected more than one insulting name, "Scumbag".

Make your own case, if you have one. I'm not going to do it for you.

You obviously didn't read the DeLay statement or the article, as I gave you more than one personal attack on Pres. Clinton; which by the way doesn't have to be in the form of calling someone a name. Like I said, I am not doing your research for you, but have given several examples. The facts, and this forum, are there for all to judge.

It is obvious by my posts that I did read the DeLay statement. I even commented on it, but since you missed it, I'll comment again.

Tom Delay's remark that Clinton was "a president who hides behind his lawyers, who stonewalls the truth, who employs attack dogs whose only purpose is to destroy the reputations ofthe innocent victims?"

No personal attacks. No name calling. The entire statement was a true statement. Evidently you have a problem with the truth and consider it an insult.

 It finally dawned on me! You're a Clinton apologist! I should have realized it by now. That explains why you believe you have made your case with only one name, "Scumbag" for evidence.

So be it. I rest my case.

Pot, meet kettle. The statements you offered about Bush also were true, so there you go.

Yeah, right! I never voted for him, but I believe in being even handed, something you obviously do not believe in. The GOP was out to get Clinton on a political vendetta from day one, hence all the investigations that amounted to nothing, and then the shameful impeachment distracting Congress & the President while Osama prepared to attack.

Rest your case, but the jury won't decide in your favor.

Edited to add: Your one-sided vision is a major cause of the extreme political polarization of the country today. You seem to think Democrat=Bad, Republican=Good. The world is not that simple.

Being patriotic never meant to support the status quo. Actually, I think the best measure of patriotism is whether a person votes and whether they get involved in the democratic process.

By the way, are you going to respond to my comments, and answer my questions? You made allegations about my opinions, but didn't bother to offer any proof.

    Regards, and still waiting,

Some democrats already refer to Bush as the world's worst terrorist. Likewise some Republicans say that some democrats are aiding and abetting terrorists.

    They're still talking.

So I guess the answer to your question is, yes.
