God considers divining to be most evil. It is linked to witchcraft and sorcery.

I think horoscopes are for entertainment. You can apply them to any situation and make it fit your life. I just wanted to see your all's thoughts on it. Thanks. Turned out to be a funny thread!

It doesn't matter if they are meant for entertainment, if God says no, then it's no, and it is a sin for a christian. Just the association is sin, doesn't matter if you beleive them or not.

I have heard a Christian say that astrology is good for insight into a person's personality traits by doing their complete "natal chart," but not for predicting the future. The reasoning was that God is a God of order. Not using it to foretell the future beats the prohibition in scripture.

And brother Ed is right when he defends the fact that the "wise men" were astrologers. Would a scientist as we know them today think that a new star had a "meaning" attached to it? No. They would just say "Wow! A new star!" not "Check the prophecies and see what it means!"

heheh!!!! Why is it that when you call them, they ask you for your credit card number? Shouldn't they know it already???

BTW, I do enjoy a fortune cookie. If I get one that I don't agree with, I eat another one [IMG]

I still have the one from the fortune cookie that says "you will inhierit a large sum of money". I've had it for 10 years ... still waiting.

My coworker got one that says "Promote literacy. Buy a box of fortune cookies on your way out."

You mean, do the Chinese believe fortune cookies are really telling the future? No. In fact, most fortune cookies contain phrases of comedy, sage advice, or personal affirmation. But calling them "comedy, sage advice, or personal affirmation cookies" is too verbose.

Actually, fortune cookies as we know them are an American Chinese restaurant invention.

However, here's the history of the custom:

Horoscopes are bad..... but the promises in the bible are awsome! [IMG]

    Ps 1:1 ~
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

I wonder what kind of people they are who write them horoscopes?
