Are there any "BMA " Baptists on the board?

    Hey,
I started this thread to see how many "if any" BMA members were on the BB.

Bobby, the church that baptized me was affiliated with the Baptist Missionary Association. The church in which I grew up was affiliated with the American Baptist Association and the Baptist Missionary Association of Texas until 1950, but with the ABA after 1950. I am not currently affiliated with either group, but I am quite familiar with the BMA. My dad's first cousin is a pastor at a church affiliated with the BMA. Did you every know Preston Cochran in southern Mississippi? He pastored here in Texas while he attended Jacksonville College (in the 50's I think).

Was this Cochran related to Bro. Forrest Cochran from Beaumont, MS? Do you know?
I know you're familiar with some of the older ministers from this area.

I don't know if there was any relation between the two. I do know that Brother (Preston) Cochran spent most of his ministry in the local Washington Association. BTW, they listed washing the saints' feet in their articles of faith until the mid-1960's. I doubt any of the churches were still practicing it that late, but I don't know.
