We see on the internet things like FEMA concentration camps. Glen Beck talking about George Soros and the emerging One World Order. How we should stockpile food as we will have a famine soon. And that the entire monetary system worldwide is about to collapse.

I believe the rapture is at hand. What do you think about the current state of our country and the world? Do you personally believe we are the generation depending on when the rapture occurs that will see the antichrist?

If Glen Beck is your source of eschatological truth than your sensors are bound to be off.

We'll be here long after you and I are dead, in ground, and present with Christ.

I have no idea when "the end" will occur. I'm wondering how you have gained the inside knowledge that it won't happen in our lifetimes?

    Are you planning for retirement?

Yes, I am. Of course I also understand that I could die tomorrow or that Christ could return tomorrow. Planning for retirement doesn't mean that I have excluded all other possibilities.

And you won't find a place on this board or in all the stuff I've written where I claim to have absolute knowledge of Christ's return. (Of course I am not convinced of a tribulation period)

I do however believe it is no less speculative to say he's returning tomorrow than a 1,000 years.

Also, I highly doubt God would use Glen Beck as His prophetic mouthpiece.

On that we agree. Your statement just made it sound like you were absolutely certain it wouldn't happen in our lifetime.

Glen Beck isn't my source but he sure makes you think. The world is heading twards a global government, economy and religion faster than ever. I believe we are in the last days. What that really means is that the time is short and we need to be busy.

Every generation from pentacost to now that holds to the rapture have believed it could come in their time. I really do not focus on the time although the times are interesting, but I can tell you that I am not looking for the antichrist. I have my hopes set on the Christ of God the Lord Jesus Christ and I will see Him in death or sudden change. Either way is fine.

Soulman, I'm all for emergency preparedness. Surviving both a hurricane AND a tornado will do that to a person. But all the talk about prepping for the end of the world, in my opinion, is designed by the devil to scare people and get our focus OFF of trusting Christ to care for our daily needs and prevent us from witnessing.

The best way to prepare for end times is to have salvation, then to witness to others so they can be saved. God's word has survived famine. It has survived floods, wars, persecution, slavery, and destruction. It will continue even when heaven and earth pass away, us included. And that's what matters.
