See my reply in this thread!
What does it mean to be a Fundamental Baptist?

Probably should have read this thread first, but the other got my input before reading this one!

I count myself as a fundamental Baptist. I believe in the historic fundamentals of the faith, seek to practice biblical separation, and am a member of a fundamental Baptist church.

Brian I believe this line of thinking was covered before we got this forum, I think it has already been said that we were looking at a literal interpretation being used here. I for one am not concerned with who gets to choose what is central as we have never been able to agree on that, also I don't feel it necesary when we hold to a literal interpretation.

According to every criteria list I have seen here , I would be considered a fundamentalist.
I don't call myself a fundamentalist but I agree wholeheartedly with the basic premises and I also have grown weary of the constant questioning... yea, hath God said...?

So, if no one has any objection, I would like to particpate here from time to time (which varies greatly because of my work and studies).

I attend an IFB church and consider myself fundamental. However, I do have this long hair...

Yes, I would say I'm a Fundamentalist, and a Baptist.

I am an Independant Fundamental Baptist. But first, and foremost, I'm saved by the blood!
I believe in the virgin birth of Christ, that He lived a sinless perfect life, that GOD created the earth, as told in Genisis, In pre trib rapture, KJVO, the atonimy of the local church, the presthood of the beliver {in other words, we don't go to a priest, we can go straight to God}, I believe that you are saved by grace threw faith and can never lose your salvation, there is a literal Heaven, and a literal hell. homosexuality is a sin, as well as abortion, oh I could go on and on to cover so much more of what I believe.
Fundamentalists' believe basic Bible doctrines. {oh my! All of us!? Agree on something?! :D ;) } well, there's hope for us yet, with the Lord's help! :D ;)
Independant just means {to my knoledge, which probably isn't much!} seprerated from other groups. We are governed by first God, but then the pastor. They have the athority, not a convention, or group, or comitty.
This is what I thought most Independant Fundamental Baptists' believed.
So am I allowed to post here?

I am a KJVO like some of you are Fundamentalists. I am not a Ruckmanite for that is as heretical as the bogus texts used by the other versions.

I am an Independent Fighting Fundamental Baptist.

My evangelist friend says he is a dependent Baptist since he is dependent on Jesus and His Word. I like that.

While I will admit some Fundies are way out there I would rather hang out with them than anywhere moderate and left.

I must be somewhere close to target because no Liberal thinks I am a Liberal, but I have had some Fundies think so depending on the topic and only really radical Fundies would think me a moderate. I have Pentecostals who love my preaching more than some Fundies, but I am definitely Fundie enough not to be considered a Pentecostal by the Pentecostals, but sometimes Fundies wonder about that.

Let's see, the Romans, Herodians, Zealots, Pharisees and Sadducees did not like the Lord so maybe that is the key to being balanced. ;)

I let this get by...I didn't see your post Preach.

    Preach says:

Christ never did and currently does not have divine blood. This was discussed on another thread. The Scripture says that he became a partaker of the same flesh and blood. Do you have divine blood. Remember, God is spirit.

BTW, this has absolutely nothing to do with fundamentalism except that it makes us all look bad when we persist in unbiblical ideas.

The only thing worse than this was the idea that animals are saved and raptured with the church. I won't mention the name.

If we claim a literal interpretation, let us do that and leave this other stuff for the liberals to blindly go through. We are to edify. Bizarre ideas do not edify but only give place to arguments. Truth builds people up and gives them a solid foundation. Preach says:

    PTW,
    Can you answer me this?
Was Jesus God, or was he man, when he turned the water into wine?

Did he alternate between his humanity and being God?

He was fully human. God answered His prayer requests and granted Him the power to cast out demons. Can't any of us do the same?

If he was fully human, how did he live a sinless life?
