True it is on both accounts, and it means in my opinion there is no easy solution. Prejudice is really just a preference sometimes ruled by fear and sometimes by hatred.

93% of the Black vote went to Obama for 2012. And if someone voted for Obama because he's half Black?

It is to a degree. There's some validity to the whining sometimes. Other times, not so much so. I think the average person is confused about racism vs prejudice and the default seems to have become---from Blacks and Whites---to call acts of prejudice racist rather than just prejudice.

a lot of Blacks also say they can't be racist. That's a lie too.

    Absolutely.

It truly is sad. But when like Gina said, you see the prejudice and at times covert racism coming out of the Church from GOD's people, it leaves a sour taste in the mouth of the observers.

I was raised in a home that the sitcom All in the Family was modeled on. Archie Bunker was my dad.

Grew up in the inner city, in a neighborhood decimated by white-flight. Jews moving out to the 'burbs; Blacks and Indians moving in. Watched Black rioting in 65-68, burning blocks and blocks of the city (that are still mostly vacant lots today), driving out the businesses of my friends. Very sad.

I joke that I was the token white on the basketball team (I'm 6'6") and only non-Jew in the national honor society. It wasn't QUITE that extreme, but not far off.

EVERYONE had "racial" (hate that word - we are all one human race) or as I call it "ethnic" biases and prejudices. We support and feel a kinship with those of similar socio-economic heritage; this is "bias" TOWARD someone.

And we dislike people who are against our beliefs, heritage, "class", etc; this is "prejudice" AGAINST someone.

Decades later, the whole world has somewhat changed. I would tell people I was Scot and Welsh and it was a matter of pride. My grandkids would be hard pressed to claim ANY such label.

So the "race" issue is decreasing (in spite of media hype of late against a "white" Hispanic (as opposed to a "____" Hispanic?). We have a half white, half African president. Race isn't that big of a deal.

Now the profiling and prejudice are aimed at RELIGION (yep - I'm a fundamentalist) and POLITICS (yep - I'm a gun-totin' conservative) and ECONOMIC (yep - I'm a capitalist). I truly HATE false religions, uber-liberals and socialists.

There I go talking about the president again . .

    But....

...he is out Prez for only three more years, at the very most! :BangHead:

And I say that not from a racist view, but from my opinion that he never had the proper skills to lead this country and that weakness is a staring those who voted for him, in the face. The problem is, true racist, who voted for him because he was black - not because he was competent - will fight you to the end of their days on this earth, in order to defend him, again, out of a racist, biased, personal prejudice.

I know certain folks on this board will argue with me, but, I have talked to blacks who voted for him because they wanted to keep a black man in office, as they didn't know if this opportunity would happen again in their life-time.

I always said that had Colin Powell or Condilsa Rice ran for POTUS, I would have not only voted for them but I would have volunteered in their campaign effort! And my words are not based on the color of the skin, but on the experience and competence they both had to make for a great leader!

    *GASP*

I'm so confused. All this time I thought you were a gentle giant, not a Gentile one.
I don't know where I got it from, but I thought you were Jewish. I did get a bit suspicious when I noted the lack of a clip on your tallit though. Mhm.

I am neither racist nor biased. Prejudiced is another thing. Everyone is prejudiced. Some of us are honest enough to admit, and others are not.

    I am bi racial.

My mom is white and my dad is Filipino.

I have been thought to be American Indian by American Indians.

I have been thought to be Mexican by Mexicans.

I have been thought to be an Islander.

I am who I am, and while others may have tried to impose things on me, I don't think I got it.

    ,

    I, too, am bi-racial...

    I'm German-Jew...

When it comes to spending money, people call me a tight Jew....

When it comes to hot dogs and sauerkraut, they call me a German.

I'm also, by way of my parents, all Americans, and that is what matters to me. I see people as Americans, and that is what it is!

No one is saying to not see people as Americans. but people also have ethnic backgrounds that have affected their life experiences in America. And that can't just be put on ignore simply because we think folks need to just move on when they are still experiencing what we think they should have moved on from.

The problem is they are not actually experiencing it. They are however using racism as a political tool to advance liberal ideology. We will not stand for it. Right now Martin in an attempt to distract from all of Obama's woes and revelations. He is in trouble so the race baters are working to cover for him.

And how are you gonna tell them what they aren't experiencing? You're talking your perspective and they are talking their experience.

And the other side is using racism as a tool to advance conservative ideology.

And the other side says the same thing. So when do God's people stand up and start making things an issue of HIM rather than of liberal/conservative politics?

And like I said before, we complain about the left crying race, but we never say anything about the right always crying politics. If the sun don't shine tomorrw, the right can find a way to make it into a political statement.

Perhaps if they stopped demanding to be treated with equality will insisting that they are at the same time separate and "special", they would actually begin to be treated with equality.

My biases are not defined by race, national origin, or the like. Yes, I admit, I have a real problem with people who are self centered, arrogant, misrepresent themselves, and look down on others.

A good example of this is Rush Limbaugh and his type. Although I agree with some of his political philosophy, I despise the life style, a loud mouth, self centered, pill popping, womanizing, sac religious slob.

Another example would be a person who criticizes veterans or the values in this nation and never served one day. Another type would be those who take and never give.

Being biased does not have to be defined by the color of skin, where one is born, or one's beliefs.
