From the International Standard Biblical Encyclopedia...

    Doctrine
dok´trin: Latin doctrina, from doceo, "to teach," denotes both the act of teaching and that which is taught; now used exclusively in the latter sense.

As you can see, the word doctrine simply means that which is taught.

    Any other questions?

So, when you teach that the KJV is the only Bible acceptable, or that women must wear pants to church, or that God does not like CCM, or ....
Any other thing, it is doctrine...

Some might be Biblical doctrine, some might be false doctrine, but whatever is taught is doctrine.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

The first two words in the verse define what true doctrine is... All Scripture.

Anything that opposes Scripture is false doctrine... which is not doctrine at all.

False doctrine is deception and not doctrine at all.

Sounds like a good idea new thread

Imo,it depends alot upon a person's chemicals. From childhood thru my early thirties, I would sleep walk and have night terrors. Also my dreams are often lucid, which is a good thing :) I am not as hyper, so I don't dream as heavily as before.

I haven't slept walk in years. Exercise helps.

While dreaming, I am almost in a drugged state of mind. When I have taken medications, I have had smooth, more normal sleep.

In some of my dreams, I am conscious enough to know I am dreaming so I have steered the dream a certain direction, then wake up later feeling guilty for the choices I made. Choices I would never consider in real life. I was aware I played some conscious part in it.

A few times or more, I jumped off of a cliff because the dream was so scary, I just couldn't take it any more so I ended it the only way I knew how to wake myself up.

Obviously, in real life, I don't jump off cliffs.
Some dreams we are accountable for, some we are not. Only you can know whether it is sin or not.

But to say a person can go without sinning for 24 hours, yet they fell asleep during this time, is questionable imo.

If you say "False doctrine" you have defined a particular kind of teaching... it is false teaching, thus it is called "false doctrine"...

    That is simple logic...

There is "true doctrine" Which is biblical doctrine
There is "false doctrine" which cannot be found in the Bible. (That is why it is false)

Come on, you are just arguing with me because you want to.

Show me how false doctrine is not doctrine.

The Bible says there are "false teachers"'

2Pe 2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.

False teachers teach false teachings or "doctrine".

Mat 16:12 Then they understood that He did not tell [them] to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Can this thread get anymore derailed than it has already become?

We have covered being perfect in doctrine, sinning in our sleep, the definition of doctrine, and how long can someone go without sinning. Oh yeah I forgot one, when are personal attacks really personal attacks, when names are used or just implied?

Again some times ya'll just crack me up!

Maybe it's symbolic of some of our doctrines.

Defining doctrine is important if you think you are right on all doctrine.

Of course I do. If it were impossible then it would not be God's word. God is right on every biblical truth.
