President Obama on Saturday vowed to press for a new international order "that can resolve the challenges of our times" and help the United States defeat Al Qaeda and other threats to freedom.

Delivering the commencement speech at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Obama ticked off a list of lofty goals this new order could accomplish; from combating violent extremism to stopping the spread of nuclear weapons to stemming climate change and sustaining global growth.

It was in the middle of a lot of other jabbering:

"... So we have to shape an international order that can meet the challenges of our generation. ..."

"... The international order we seek is one that can resolve the challenges of our times –- countering violent extremism and insurgency; stopping the spread of nuclear weapons and securing nuclear materials; combating a changing climate and sustaining global growth; helping countries feed themselves and care for their sick; preventing conflict and healing wounds. ..."

Aside from this I noted that Obama finally recognizes that "...But this is a different kind of war. ..." and that "... We fight for the security of our allies and partners, because America believes that we will be safer when our friends are safer; that we will be stronger when the world is more just. ..." which, therefore, demonstrates that he can't keep his promises to end it all in short order. That was the "bring our boys home" line that sells so well during a campaign - the one that so many liberals bought - and then is met with the utter reality of the evil world in which we live.

I wouldn't give anything he says an ounce of credibility in a ton of manure.
