Lemme say this about the closed thread which had certain words now considered scatology...its author has disregarded the changes in English over the last 400 years, and expects us to abandon the English we grew up with and revert to an earlier time. While the words used in the old Bible were quite proper for everyday use 'way back when, they no longer are used in the sense they were used then, same as 'let' is no longer used for 'hinder'.

Many words found in the KJV have changed their usage or their meanings since 1611/1769. Because the English language is alive and constantly changing we need ongoing labors of translation in order to make the Bible understandable for today's readers and the readers of the future. [IMG]
