Baby Announcement

    After 40 days in a hospital 2 hours from home, I have finally returned!

    I want to announce the arrival of the most beautiful baby girl, my daughter, Gesserine! She was born October 25, 2001 at 3:14pm and wieghs 8 pounds 14 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Shortly after her delivery she began to have some problems so she was flown to a hospital that specializes in neonatal care. She was soon diagnosed with down syndrome and has a heart defect (AV Canal). She finally got to come home with me today but we are still working on getting her to eat enough. She will be having open heart surgery in a couple of months (or sooner if she has trouble growing).

    She actually doesn't act sick and is the most precious thing I have laid eyes upon! Do keep us in your prayers though. It is SOOOO scary to think of someone so small undergoing open heart surgery!

    I will try to get back into the conversations going on, but I am beat and my little one will take up much of my time (and I will enjoy every second of it!).

    Thanks for all your prayers, God works in mysterious ways and somehow, after all this, after all we have been through I just look at this darling girl and think of how blessed I have am!

    Welcome back Lorelei! Our prayers are with little baby Gesserine that the Lord may prepare her for the open-heart surgery. [​IMG]

    Well, I was right about the afternoon delivery but not the day. My prediction was a Sunday, and I see that she fit to come into this world on a Thursday. She must be precious. Our best wishes to you and your family in raising her up in the nurture and admonishion of the Lord.

    Hi Lorilei! Thanks for the update! I have thought of you often and thought that something must've come up to keep you away from us for so long.

    My cousin has downs and he is such a wonderful person! In fact, he works a job @ K-Mart and is the biggest flirt you have ever known! He also owns a mule and a tractor that my uncle bought him! He thinks he's all that! LOL . . .

    You've got a precious gift indeed! God bless you and meet every need you will will encounter!

    Thanks for the update, Lorelei! How we have missed you, but you have been in our prayers for sure! We will continue to pray for Gesserine. If you can let us know the date and time etc. of her surgery, we will keep in prayer vigil for her!

    I'm so glad to hear that your baby is finally home with you! I will definitely keep her in my prayers that the our Heavenly Father would protect her during her surgery and guide the hands of the surgeons.

    You should get with the Toolman and talk about everthing, his boy was in the Hospital for 6 months after he born, he is now 3 years.

    Congratulations on your special blessing. My prayers are with you and the precious little one. I'm so glad to hear about her, it makes me doubly glad becuase I'm getting a baby cousin today (supposed to if Kim stays on schedule) Her name is going to be Marlee.

    Thanks all! Just seeing all of your posts reminds me just how much I have missed it here and missed all of you! What a blessing you all are to me! [​IMG]

    Gesserine seems to be adjusting to home life well and thanks to daddy I got some much needed sleep last night!

    My husband came up with Gesserine's name. It's the writer in him, he loves to be original.

    Thanks again for all the prayers and love! I will keep everyone updated and let you all know when the surgery gets scheduled.

    I will now start to do some much needed catching up on what threads are out there.

    Hey, Thought I would use Lorelei's thread to make my own baby announcement. We have a new baby (NOT MINE!!!) I have a new cousin, who was born yesterday at 2:53pm. Her name is Marlee Ann, she weighs a little over 7 pounds, and is 20 inches long. We did not think yesterday that she would make it through the delivery because of an infection that Kim had. But, she made it and is now a healthy baby girl with lots of dark hair. :D
