Like him alot too. It turned out he had a wealth of info on ancient wine preservation techniques. Was even experimenting with them himself.

I think he was banned because of the M.E. hype. Banning folks for that is a black spot on the BB record for sure, but no one's perfect.

I wont bicker with you - as long as you agree with me
I agree with you - we can learn from those we disagree with. I am on a very liberal military FB page - there is absolutely no encouragement if you dare to even question their views. In fact one rule is you can not even bring up religion..
Robert, I may disagree with you, Crabby and some of our "liberals" but you guys are nowhere near like the ones on that FB page.
Maybe you can tell me, why I keep going there?

Ed Sutton always made good and interesting posts. To my knowledge he never offended anyone but the guy was a walking encyclopedia on church history in Kentucky. I know a little about that subject as well and I never found him to be wrong. I seem to have read someone's post that he died.

Loved to debate him. Very rational and knew his stuff.

He'd say studying theology is like eating watermelon, you've got to shallow the good while you spit out all the seeds. He had a habit of putting a lot of watermelons on the table that I had to chew through. Seemed I was always taking a lot of big bites and was spitting a lot when debating him.

Losing his son had to be unimaginably difficult.

I still pray for him occasionally.

I was unsaved according to him. :)

He's still as nutty as ever but he fathered a few more innocent babies since he was here. Cute kids but I feel badly for them.

There's a guy that could get on people's nerves in a hurry.

He had quite an understanding of Progressive Revelation and although he used it to support his Dispensational views which he was very strong on I ended up studying it A LOT! and oddly enough this brought me into a different direction of learning a view of Progressive Covenantal Theology that has proved to stand the test of time and helped me to make sense of many things.

I'm thinking he probably just had enough and left - permanently!

Made some really good points but sometimes she seemed to pull her ideas out of the clear blue sky.

I was told I should read his posts, and I did. Amazingly, some of my beliefs are similar. Apparently, he was more comfortable with some elements of Charismatics than I am. I an curious as to why he was banned.

I even read his website. He seems mostly orthodox to me, and very conservative or traditional on morality. He evidently tries to combine Celtic and Anabaptist elements. Overall, I think I would describe it as "Anabaptist Anglican". :)

I miss npetreley. He was fun and intelligent.

Where has J.D. gone? He was solid.

Jarthur001 (James Hale) was interesting. Sometimes a little too wordy, but theologically correct.

Martin Marprelate (Steve) was a fine presence here;as well as his friend David Lamb --who was as gentle as a lamb.

Pipedude was exceptional. He was intelligent and polite. And he admitted he was an Arminian on numerous occasions. I admire his honesty.

    Johnv --he was cool!

Martin was an enthusiastic history buff.

Pastor Larry was incredible. I learned a lot from him. A classic thread (in which I did not post) was called Two Philosophies. In that thread he took on TCassidy. The latter claimed that Erasmus had had access to every reading we do today. Larry called him on it.

I didn't get along with Keith M,but miss him. He always had some views divergent from mine on the subject of Bible translations. It was so funny how he made some ardent assertions that didn't pan out. For instance...On 7/4/07 he said :"I also like and use the HCSB." But by 9/17/07 :"I have not read the HCSB."

I'd like to add Calvibaptist and whatever to my list of former posters who went AWOL. I miss them.

And Helen, though we were at odds theologically, was a nice person --very intelligent and evangelical-minded.
