    The thing is, every single one of these is something that the unregenerate, natural man can attain on his own. He can keep everyone of theses rules.

    When Jesus summed up the entire law as loving God with all of your heart and your neighbour as yourself, He set a standard that no one has ever or will ever uphold other than HImself.

    Legalism is when you trade God's Holy law that no one can keep with a list of rules that a person can keep.

    The reason for so many varied lists is that not everyone can keep the same list.

    Legalism kills the Gospel.
