I can understand big city's having road rage
& being rude...But in the small town's & in the
store's that's no place for people to be rude..
But i can only answer for me....I have had my
heel's bang by shopping cart's to the point of
bleeding...& they would not say sorry or anything.

I mean some will get right in the middle of the
door's coming in & stop & talk & you can ask them
nice to let you threw & it's like they don't hear.
Has anyone else had this happen to them,
And when you do get threw they will commit on
how rude someone was or is....

When I'm not feeling well, or my kids are acting up, or when I'm just having a bad day, things like this are harder to deal with....everything gets on my nerves. And I see rudeness where it may not actually exist. But when I'm my normal self... things like this don't get me upset. I just say excuse me and smile and that's the end of it.

Rudeness does seem to be on the upswing here on the BB. I have been the brunt of it a few times this past week. I can only attribute it to the fact that everyone is tense because of the war.

Last week I apologized to a poster and asked his forgiveness because I had misunderstood what he said. He did not acknowledge that until the moderator told him too.

Just today a poster called me a liar. I said that I forgave him because I believe in the saying, "If you can't forgive, don't rebuke", his reply was BIG DEAL...

Are we having fun yet? [IMG]

I'm wondering, since you're new to the internet, if you are misunderstanding short and to the point replies as rude? I didn't notice rudeness in any posts but I also did not read them all so I might have overlooked some. (Editd to say... I went and tried to read all those posts but the guys were pretty strong on their thoughts and way over my head.... I gave up. LOL)

I find that I tend to give my firm response more quickly on the internet because most people give you one chance to give an opinion and then skim over your replies after that. If you and I were discussing something in person, I'd be able to give you a number of replies with you being able to respond inbetween. The internet doesn't really give us a discussion type option and on things like abortion, divorce, war.... people tend to have very strong views one way or the other.

Hope I explained this the way I meant to. I sure don't thing there is an excuse for true rudeness!

A few months ago, on one particular day, I got
my derriere rammed several times in two different
stores, by two different persons. The first one
just kept doing it and doing it, so I started pushing
the cart back -- with my derrier -- when glances
    did not work.

Now, after the second time, if someone had
bloodied my heel, I would have grabbed their
cart, holding onto it for dear life, and limped about,
saying, "Oh! Oh! OOOWWWWWW!" Then I would
have held to their cart for "support" and told them
I needed a Kleenex, some idoine, a Bandaid, and
some Tylenol. I would have added that they
needed to get the manager to come take care of
    the hazardous-waste-spill, because I was
    bleeding.

This has nothing to do with "road rage" but for the past 10 months one woman I work with(I think she's in her early-mid 20s) always takes a nasty tone when she talks to me. Whenever I am doing something "wrong" in her eyes, she takes an attitued of "Jimmy, you know better, and I'm going to make your life miserable by finding fault with you." She also gets mad whenever one of our managers asks her to work with me. I wonder if she has issues with men, or maybe do I remind her of a man who caused problems in her life way back when(like an old boyfriend)???

I have trouble with women who act like my mother
but no problem with women who look like her.
I get nervous, make mistakes around them, feel
inferior and weak, and basically fall apart. Some-
times, we just allow people to bring out the worst
in us. I have never been able to overcome it -- yet.

Willow, we try to help one another and lift each other up in prayer.

When a person disagrees with another one, that is what they are doing. They are disagreeing.

When a person does not understand and asks for more information or clarification, that is what they are doing. They want more information.

There are many different personalities on this Board and it is wonderful to see them shine through their posts.

There is also great knowledge among the members of this board and we can all learn from each other. Many have university degrees and many do not, but everyone of the members has something to contribute to this Board.

The most important thing is the members have great faith and love for our Lord God and our Savior.

We regret that you think that some are being rude, but as it has been pointed out, it is very difficult to see facial expressions so we try to use graemlins to show that we are joking, teasing, complaining, confused, embarrassed, sad, and yes, angry.

I admire you very much for learning something new. The computer and the internet can be very intimidating.

Please enjoy your fellowship here with other Christians. [IMG] [IMG]

Willow, To address your accusation of rudeness on my part, when I tried to help you recently via p.m. (after I read you asking for help) you were excessively virulent towards me which caught me completly offguard. It felt like a punch in the nose. You took my willingness to offer you help as being judgemental and rude and resorted to calling me names, I found this incomprehensible and completly unfair. I tried to move past it and forgive you for your rash temper. We call it "chocking it up to having a bad day" around here.

Unfortunately, since you have called me rude yet again, and now in the public forum for all to see, I feel for my own good I will withdraw myself from further discussion with you. The cost is too great.

you said i called names.? who did send the E-Mail saying hurtful remarks..Like you are a
uneducated person that does not know a thing a-
bout what your talking about. & also you can't
spell this & that & showing me how to spell this
    & that...& don't be debateing if you can't do
    this & that...Cause your not educated...So i feel
like that was calling me stupid..Cause you said
    i had no education..

I'am sorry i can't take someone all the time
correcting everthing i say or do..like i'm all
the time wrong & you are right, just because i
don't agree with you that does not make me wrong. But growing up i was taught pointing at
someone all the time is rude..or that's what
    my school teacher said.

    I'am sorry I'am sorry I'am sorry

Ok girls! It's time for you two to kiss and make up! [IMG] You are both Christians and you can both agree to disagree. I have seen you do it. (This is not meant to offend either of you)

Willow: You keep on posting. You have the mind of Christ, it doesn't matter if you mispell a word, I can always understand your posts. I mispell words sometimes too.

WS: You are a gracious person and usually go out of your way to make a person feel good about themselves. But, like the rest of us, you have bad days too. I know I have my share!

I will close with my favorite thought. I may not always know what I am talking about; but I ALWAYS have an opinion!

    Blessings,
    Sue
