    Tangent,

    Amen!

    But when they attempt to spread that man-made doctrine, pawning it off as the gospel truth, it is then that one must choose to take a stand.

    In Christ,

    You see there are issues on both sides of the camp. Our church here in Hawaii http://www.obchurch.org is IFB and KJV is the version we use. But non-KJV users cut us down as legalists and mean spirited folk. I have travelled the world and have never met or been associated with a more loving, caring Pastor and staff. They truly love their congregation and just because we choose the KJV as the version to use in our church, we are labelled and criticized, judged, etc. I suggest everyone read I Corinthians 13 again (see below). The bottom line is that not all IFB KJV churches are the same and each needs to be viewed on a case by case basis. Quit pre-judging everyone and lumping everyone into one group.

    Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become [as] sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

    1Cr 13:2 And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

    1Cr 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed [the poor], and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

    1Cr 13:4 Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

    1Cr 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

    1Cr 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

    1Cr 13:7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

    1Cr 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether [there be] prophecies, they shall fail; whether [there be] tongues, they shall cease; whether [there be] knowledge, it shall vanish away.

    1Cr 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

    1Cr 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

    1Cr 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

    1Cr 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

    1Cr 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity.

    You are right. I have a good friend who is an excellent pastor. He loves people. He prefers the KJV but it is not an issue with him if someone reads another translation. He honors me and I honor him. We respect each other. My inlaws attend his church. He is doing God's work. The people are growing. Even when the people disagree with him they will not say anything against him because they love him and he loves them.

    I am not KJVO but another friend of mine is and I have had him preach several times when I was pastoring. The people loved him. He never made the KJV an issue but Christ. He had a contagious attitude of love.

    "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care."

    Right on!

    Mt. 7:21-23, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,'will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.'"

    Amen, AF Guy. I am glad for you and your experience, and it IS sad when some who are not "onlies" take unwise shots/cuts at a church because of their standards, etc.

    You suggest a "case by case" basis and I commend that. The posters who on this very thread said I am an "unbeliever" or not a "bible believer" are in grave error and such attacks and name calling will not be allowed.

    Seems you've changed tack a little, Jim Ward. You useta call us who use more than one BV "Bibles Believers". Not that there's anything wrong with that. Calling us wrong for being Bibles Believers is like calling me wrong because I'm left-handed instead of right-handed like you. You've been asked time & again to provide evidence to support your views & you never answer with any straightforwardness whatsoever. I KNOW you're a very intelligent man, far too wise to really believe a myth that totally lacks proof, so I must assume you advocate KJVO just for the sake of argument. Your failure to answer basic questions about the validity of the KJVO myth, coupled with the intelligence we know you have, bears this out.

    AF Guy-Nothing wrong with using only the KJV or any other one valid version yourselves, long as you don't knock the other guy who knows there's more than just one valid version & who's been led by God to use more than one version. The way I see it, maybe God has led y'all to use just the KJV for reasons of His own. After all, we're working for Him, and HE decides what He wants us to do for Him.
