I hope that you get enough response to make the poll valid. I appreciated the poll and going by your displayed name, I really appreciate a non-biased poll. Are you in High School or College?

    Glad we can help.

    Which KJV is the KJB?

I have no Bible with KJB on the spine.
I do have three different KJVs as noted above.
Please help me identify what you think is the KJB.
    Thank you.

    -----------------------
Which King James Version do you use?
    Here is a sample test:

    1. Ruth III:15d (KJV1611):

... and he went into the citie.

    2. Ruth 3:15 (KJV1769):

... and she went into the city.

    3. Ruth 3:15 (KJV1873):

... and he went into the city.

I note that most KJV electronic sources
    are from the KJV1769.
    -----------------------

Question 2 of 6: What do you believe is the PERFECT Word of God?
I would choose them all, if you would have let me.[/b

    KJB
    NIV
    NASB
    NKJV
    LIVING BIBLE
    GOOD NEWS FROM MODERN MAN
    AMPLIFIED VERSION
    GREEK/HEBREW
    GENEVA
    ORIGINALS

(i voted for this choice:) ORIGINALS

Question 3 of 6: How dependable is the King James Bible?
    Choose 1
    PERFECT
    VERY DEPENDABLE
    SOMEWHAT DEPENDABLE
    NOT VERY DEPENDABLE

    xxx NOT DEPENABLE AT ALL

(I could have voted better, had i known which was the KJB)

Question 4 of 6: What would you say are the biggest problems w/ the KJB?
    Choose 1
    NONE, ITS PERFECT

    ARCHAIC WORDS

    ITALICS

    "CONTRADICTIONS"

    HARD TO UNDERSTAND

    XXX OTHER
(It has those nasty Translator Margin Notes that
show there are various versions of the Greek TR)
The Translators of the KJV1611 had to do textual analysis,
for wich Westcott and Hort are DAMNED???

Only question I have is to the definition of "perfect" in your poll....If by perfect you mean inerrant (all truth with no mixture of error) my answer is yes.

If by perfect you mean flawless when compared to the autographs then it has to be no.

Outside of that, good poll. Get an "A" on your report! [IMG]

You should have included the option of more than one Perfect Word of God. I think you'll have a number of people not bother to vote because the poll is stacked FOR KJVO's.

I couldn't finish the poll because I couldn't get past the second question.

And for the first question: ESV and NET.

I will say one thing guys...Isn't it wonderful to see a high school student taking a poll about bibles instead of some other things that they could be taking a poll about (trying to be delicate here)? [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

I agree with dianetavegia, and rsr: question 2 should have allowed multiple selection. I voted "originals" but wanted to vote for several selections. Also, I think question 5 is easily misunderstood: I voted "Yes" as I am for the KJV, even though I am against KJV-onlyism. For question 6, I voted "Yes", not because he wants schism between believers, but because he wants us to defend truth.

Good comment, mcgyver. I wholeheartedly agree. [IMG]

Regardless of how the poll was worded, I am with mcgyver on this one. It is GREAT to see a high school student doing a study on the various Bibles people use and what they believe about them. It could be worse.
OTOH; Guys/gals; give the feller a break. Perhaps he worded his poll based on his own experiences. After all, he hasn't even made it around the block yet! ;)

AV1611Preacher; Good job son. You are to be commended. I caution you however. As you can tell by my screen name, I believe probably pretty close to what you believe. As such, I must warn you not to come on here and try to "convert" anybody to your way of thinking. It won't work. (Been there done that. [IMG] ) Just be nice. Discuss things. Give your point of view. And learn. You really do not have to change your views, just be nice about expressing them. Some fellers here play hard ball. Like a duck in the rain, let it just roll off your back. K?

    God bless you brother!

    In HIS service;
    Jim

Could you do yourself and us a favor by not typing in all caps, and by using proper punctuation? This is a message board and not DeadAim or some other chat room.

You ARE to be commended for actually doing a Bible study in high school. Stick around here & you'll soon learn how false the KJVO myth is.

Commendations for a decent attempt at a poll. Your bias is clear, but I commend you for your attempt to present an honest poll.

In addition to the suggestions for improvement stated there are a couple of other things.

Your accidental use of "originals" twice in question 2 will skew your results if you are not careful.

Question three should have included an option of "I don't believe there are any major problems." I had to vote "other" because I have no problems with the KJV, but do not think it is perfect.

I definetely DO NOT believe God is for this schismatic issue. Far too much time and money is spent fighting with each other over what translation we choose to use. Churches are splitting, fellowships are being broken, friends are becoming enemies, missionaries are losing support, and irreperable harm is being done to the body of Christ. All the while, Satan chortles with glee at this extrabiblical battle.

I agree with Roby - to seasoned message board users ALL CAPS gives the impression you are screaming at us. Just a friendly hint.

Could not take the poll. It does not have answers that I could choose.

It sets the taker up as "for" or "against" the KJV. I am neither.

    In Christ,
    Trotter

I agree, Trotter. 'Though the KJV has discrepancies, same as does every translation, they're not so bad as to cause me to toss the baby with the bathwater. The AV men did a great job with what little they had to work with. I also use the KJV, but you mighta guessed I'm not limited to it.

    Preacher...

While the KJV was the best English version of its day, God and His word are *LIVING*! God's word is NOT like a Milton or Shakespeare work that became frozen in time with the authors' deaths. God has been CONTINUOUSLY ALIVE, AND IN CHARGE, ALWAYS; he did NOT retire in 1611 as some KJVOs seem to believe, and He loves THIS generation as much as He loves KJ's generation, or that of the Apostles, or that of Noah & his sons. He supplies His word in OUR English, same as He supplied Germany in 1517 with Luther's Bible, and as He supplies Germany today in MODERN GERMAN.

The KJV became frozen in time with the passing of KJ and his translators, but is as valid now as it was then. However, God's LIVING WORD is NOT frozen into just the one version any more than it was frozen into the Geneva Bible or any other version that preceeded it.

Can GOD not present His very own word AS HE CHOOSES?

Yes He can and did...Just now way of Egypt however... </font>[/QUOTE]Does your answer contradict itself? Does your answer limit the sovereignty of God by demanding that it be according to your man-made KJV-only reasoning?

Would you claim that God could no way call His Son out of Egypt?

Matthew 2:15 "Out of Egypt have I called my son."

I think that God is involved in the battle to see that the world has an accurate translation of The Holy Bible within the limits of human ability. Some translations should be rejected on the lack of merit or accuracy.
