So translators sometimes poor false doctrine into the translation, especially if they use vague terms which can be understood in various ways. Pretty good argument against ambiguity, when the probable meaning is contextually clear.

 

Such as calling Yahweh Allah in Muslim translation, or taking away calling Jesus as Son of God?

 

This has piqued my curiosity. Was there an Arabic translation of Scripture preceding Islam that used the phrase, "There is no god but God"?

The form of this question can be extended to other phrases cited.

 

Thanks Jerome, Article III is a gold mine. I had not appreciated the pitfall of using the immediate context for a translation choice, which might obliterate a wider contextual connection, such as the equality of God's three Persons. I will file this under every rule has an exception.
