The NKJV is a very good Bible, based on the TR text, the same text used for the KJV. Many scholars think the TR contains some mistaken renderings, but on line if you compare the NKJV with the WEB (World English Bible) you will find for the most part the NKJV is spot on, assuming the Byzantine Text is best. Now if you want to consider switching horses and go with the Critical Text, then consider the NASB95, HCSB, and NET (New English Translation).

As well as the NIV, NAB, REB and NLT and a few others.

I've always said that there is a similarity between the HCSB and the NIV. But the more I compare the NET with the NIV those two have a striking degree of kinship.

The 2 best versions for serious bible studying would be the NKJV/Nasb, with your choice dependent upon which yextual basis you seem best!

Certainly the NASB95, and the NKJV are great bibles for study. But any bible translation should be compared with others, so the NKJV should be compared with the KJV and the WEB, while the NASB95 should be compared with the HCSB, and the NET if one wants to stick to one text (CT or Byzantine).

The NKJV is more accurate though then the Kjv, and the net and HCSB are not as literal as either versions, as more in line with the Niv!

The NKJV should be compared with the KJV and the WEB. They reflect to various degrees the Byzantine text.

And the NASB95 should be compared with the NET and HCSB. These reflect to various degrees the Critical text.

Remember not to mistake literalness with faithfulness. The two often do not go together.

Which is more literal, you were called into fellowship with Christ or you were transferred into fellowship with Christ? How did you literally get into Christ and out of the realm of darkness? Think about it. :)

That is true, but the Nas does attempt to stay closer to the actual construction of the Greek Grammar when translating into Rnglish...
