I agree, size doesn't matter according to growth. I just personally like big churches better, but there can be disadvantages to that too. -dar

I have attended a church with membership upwards of 2500 and I TRULY loved the church simply because I loved the way the Pastor taught the Bible (no nonsense, straight from the Book). However, I felt like a needle in a haystack all the time. At times I even felt invisible. I put forth the effort to get involved but the members were very clique-ish. I volunteered my time and was very badly taken advantage of. Had I not moved to another state, I would still be in that church because of the Pastor (whom I BARELY knew if at all). All I knew was that I wanted to continue to learn under his guidance (whether I was seen or known) but I DO NOT recommend this at all. I am still searching for a church (been in Ohio for 4 months) that will fit my needs. The up-side to a large church is that they have the power and resources to meet your needs...small churches don't seem to have this. :D

There are problems with both ends of the size spectrum. However, I like the idea of a small church better. Why you ask? Well because in a smaller church you are known. I doubt I would have been saved, or at least as soon in a larger church. One of the key factors in my accepting Jesus as my savior was the knowledge that the entire chruch was praying for me. That would not happen in a large church were you can become just a name.

I grew up in a moderate sized catholic church. However I stopped attending regularly when I was about 12 or 13. Well when I was 28 someone found my name on a list at the church and put me down to help out at the churches food booth at the local festivel. This churh had about 500 members and they had no idea I no longer attened, or that I didn't even live in the town anymore. I found out about it from my mother. If that can happen what happens in a church that has several thousand members.
