Don't know if you have heard, but Ken Ham is going to be debating Bill Nye February 4th! My prediction? Ken Ham is going to wipe the floor with him.

Ham will offer scientific arguments, Nye will offer sarcastic personal attacks and most people, who wouldn't know a good debate if they saw one, will think Nye won the debate because he was more charismatic.

This will definitely be worth watching if it is televised.

Now, if we can get Dawkins to finally concede and debate Bill Craig...that would be immensely important.

I agree, a debate between Dawkins and Craig would be the debate of my lifetime. This Ham vs. Nye.....not so much.

The debate is all worthless, and a waste of time.

The unsaved will be seen as fools by the believers, and the believers give the unsaved more fodder from which to mock.

well, the greatest christian Apoligist who has ever lived was not so much to look at, not very 'charasmatic', but the Apostle paul would have delivered the goods and proved both of theose boys needed to fine tune some of their erronous theologies!

I don't recall Paul ever debating - before salvation most certainly as that was most probably a part of the learning process of his schooling, after salvation, no.

That Paul engaged in using persuasion is consistent with two areas mentioned in the Scriptures: His appearance before King Agrippa, and his statement that he conformed himself to all men on purpose (1 Cor. 9:22).

"Contending for the faith" is sometimes used as an excuse for such debates with the ungodly, but if one looks at the context of Jude 1, it is concerning the purity of the assembly and not someone outside of the assembly.

I don't see any necessity in such debates, nor that engaging in such events with the ungodly are Scriptural.

Dawkins proved that he'll only debate the minor leaguers with that one. A TON of atheists were upset about it.
