I saw on the news that Bill Parcells has retired from coaching the Cowboys. There are links but I don't know how to cut and paste them.

Let us pray that the owner quits next.

Are you saying that Jerry Jones is responsible for the way the Cowboys play?

There's nothing wrong with the owner. If you don't like the owner, why don't you put your money together and offer to buy the Cowboys?

Andy, do you think maybe we haven't heard the last of Parcells? I think he's done coaching. However, there was a rumor that Huizenga was after him to coach the Dolphins, but, even with TO in Dallas, I can't see him leaving there to go to Miami. I think he'll land at either ESPN, or maybe the NFL Network, just as he was doing before taking the Dallas job.

I was more or less teasing with that statement, but I wouldn't discount it entirely. He's 64 years old, so this is probably it for him. He looks older than that, too. I think coaching takes more of a toll on some, and he definitely looks like coaching has taken a toll on him. I think if the Dallas situation were more normal (meaning no T.O. or Jerry Jones), he would have stuck around for another few years.

Here's an intriguing thought - I could see Tom Coughlin leaving the Giants after next year if they don't do well. Could the Tuna replace him for a swan song?

Dallas might be Cowher's next destination.

The latest rumor that seems to have some legs is that Wade Philips would be brought in as head coach, and Jason Garrett would be the offensive coordinator. Phillips did a good job at Buffalo, two winning seasons and one 500 season. Garrett was a former backup qb for dallas who has been getting good reviews for his offensive coaching - also a former disciple of Norv Turner, who was a great offensive coach.

Norv continues to get press as a potential candidate

By the way, I was being sarcastic about my 2 previous posts to irritate Cowboys fans.

Wade Phillips was useless in Denver when he coached there. Those were some of the worse years for my Broncos...

Wade Phillips? He's not exactly the big name guy that I think Jones would like to hire. I can't see Norv Turner being hired at Dallas after not getting the job done with both the Skins and the Raiders.

I keep hearing that Jones likes Lovie Smith and may try to get him after the Superbowl.

I sure hope that is not true.
