Very sad to hear this. I always enjoyed watching the 49ers in the 80s.

Anyone know if Walsh was a believer?

Lets hope that he was, but I have no idea if he was saved. The man was one of the games great coaches. Changed the way much of the offense is played. The coaching tree of coaches that have followed him is quite large, probably about thirty coaches. He has a real impact on the NFL.

As a childhood Bengals fan, this man broke my heart - twice. I despised him. But he was a winner.

I know this isn't sports related, but Tom Snyder and Ingmar Bergman died today also.

He kept on knocking off my Rams! But those 49er-Dallas battles were great!

wow, this is the first i have heard of this; i was out of the loop last week doing some mission work down in New Orleans with no TV or internet.
I was never a fan of the 49'ers in the 80's, mainly out of dislike for Joe Montana...but i respected Bill Walsh and the mind he had for the game.
