Dr. Carol Swain, professor of law and political science at Vanderbilt Law School, is a woman of faith who loves this country and the Constitution.

She credits American exceptionalism and God’s hand for her rise from a family of 12 children that was born in rural poverty in southwest Virginia.

But now, Swain now thinks “we have all of these forces pulling us away from faith to secularism.”

“As a black person, it bothers me that the America I know and love I feel like is being destroyed by a black man. I don’t understand why,” she said, discussing her serious concerns about President Obama’s legacy in an exclusive interview with The Daily Caller. “Not even a native-born black man who has the history, the roots in the country.”

“It bothers me that so many black people have been deceived into supporting programs and policies that are killing them,” she continued.

She worries most about Obama’s governance and how it erodes constitutional freedoms.

“I value my free speech. You know, I take that clause [of the Constitution] very seriously,” Swain said. “And, what I see in America right now is our freedom of speech, our freedom of religion, freedom of association — all of that being totally eroded. And when I look at the Fourth Amendment about the search and seizure, I see we have no protection. We are living an Orwellian experience where we are almost under 24-hour surveillance. We never know when we are having a private conversation.”

In this two-part interview, she discussed the tea party, “social justice” as a Marxist concept of administering compassion through government and what helps people analyze America’s changes.

While her perspective is no doubt appreciated. racially motivated conservatives need to stop with this searching high and low to find Black conservatives who disagree with President Obama and then brandishing them as though it means any more coming from a Black conservative than it would from a White conservative.

It's really starting to highlight possible motives.

I wish the white liberals who agree with him would do some shutting up, as well.

If both sides took that advise, at least it would be quieter.

Everything would still be a disaster, but at least we wouldn't hear everyone whine about it.

Amen. I do not need a black person to tell me team zero has been an unmitigated disaster. The thought that there are black folks who can think for themselves, and articulate those thoughts well, should not be a surprise to anyone, except maybe Joe Biden. Or Robert "Sheets" Byrd. Or Bill "You know, Ted, a few years ago this guy would be getting us coffee." Clinton.

 Very true. It's just a strange notion to think it makes a bit of difference what she says because of her skin color as opposed to it making a difference because it's the truth.

I think the motive is to basically say, "We're not racist simply because we disagree." They think that by finding a black spokesperson, people will realize that simply disagreeing with someone doesn't mean you hate his color.

I understand what they are trying to do. But it's sad that they have to.

I do not know of anyone "looking" for a black spokesperson. Black conservatives are coming out to speak on their own. Of course liberals do not like that.
