    God and the Jews

We all can quote the Scriptures that buttress our arguments. Jesus says we are to "love our enemies" and to "turn the other cheek" and the next thing you know He says that his disciples should arm themselves with swords for protection, so which is it?

As regards the Jews, in Genesis 17: 7-8 it says the following:

“I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. The whole land of Canaan, where you are now an alien, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God.”

So what does the word "everlasting" mean? It means forever! It didn't say until an evangelist named Paul says otherwise. Yes, Jesus came for the Jews first but was rejected by them, thus we Gentiles became the beneficiaries of His coming. The covenant between God and the Jewish people remains - it is as the OT scripture points out "everlasting".

That is an oxymoron. You who has Christ as you said (only God truly knows), even if you do not live perfectly, stand a better chance than on who does not accept Christ. I am not saying that you will be preserved in your hypocrisy but, you stand a better chance if you repent.
The man who never accepts Christ has no chance. THIS IS WHERE ONES WORKS ARE NOT ENOUGH. The flesh work of a man amounts to nothing if he has no faith in salvation. He has NO GRACE in that case and it is only by grace we are saved. That grace is JESUS CHRIST, who paid the penalty for all who believe.

Everlasting means everlasting, that is not the question. The question is to WHOM that everlasting gift is given. It is not to the Edom Jew but to Jacob. Those in Christ are of the lineage of Jacob(Jacob means ISRAEL). Because Esau sold his birthright for some 'Red Stew' he forfeited his right to have Christ born of his blood line. Son of David, this means Christ through Mother Mary is of David's blood line.David is of Jacob's blood line. All born of Christ are the TRUE ISRAEL. It is to them that the whole land of Canaan is promised.

God will preserve His own. The rest he has set a trap for. Jacobs troubles are from his own kin, as was Christ's. They are false Witnesses against Israel and the Edom Jew is not Israel. or of Israel (Jacob) God knows his own. Thanks given to Jesus Christ the opening of prophecy. One should not presume to know the meaning of prophecy. It is God who reveals the meaning of His words to the faithful. You do not understand what you post . If you did you would know there is a tale of two lineages concerning the Holy Land and the people . It was revealed in Cain and Abel first and carries on throughout the pages of God's written Word.

Witnesses Against Israel AMOS 3 :5-7
…5Does a bird land in a snare where no bait has been set? Does a trap spring from the ground when it has nothing to catch? 6If a trumpet sounds in a city, will the people not tremble? If calamity comes to a city, has not the LORD caused it? 7Surely the Lord GOD does nothing without revealing His plan to His servants the prophets.…
The bate has been set by God, O' glorious wonders of the Father, the unfathomable wisdom of His ways.

I have nothing to repent for. I have my belief in Christ, and I have an opinion about something. Good grief, there are so many here that are continually judging my walk with Christ which is something that only God is fit to do. I answer to Him and no one else.

Hypothetical. Meaning in a generalized statement, if you as a believer, screw up in your walk, make mistakes, and repent you will stand a better chance than one who never accepts Christ. He will never have a chance at all. So you have a better chance than him. BTW to tell Christ your sorry for misinterpreting scripture or supporting a bishop's false stance is a good idea, one that demonstrates humility. We all make mistakes whether deliberate or not. Either way our God is perfect and wants us to acknowledge our mistakes before Him and apologize to him that he may add growth , change and add to our spirit discernment .
"Be thou perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect". One's life is like a garden, little weeds turn into big ones.

It's not only the Bishop's stance on what we have been talking about here, but the Church's as well. So again I will repeat, I have nothing to personally repent for as my opinion is in line with what the Catholic Church teaches on this.

Hmm, well that is not a gem , I do not put hay in my treasure chest. Believe what you want. So glade to have Christ, I do not have to pledge an allegiance to any one denomination and all it's doctrines and decrees. I simply test them all according to the foundation, Christ! If doctrines do not pass the scripture test, I do not accept them or the men who compromise.

Hmmmm....after all your preaching on works and love, it boils down to faith in the work of Christ for you.

If the bishop, or any other Catholic, would like to give the answer to Ben's question from God, they could simply say....

The Work of the Law is Love...

"Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets"
    (Matt 22)

How do you think you are doing with this Law? Pretty well? Do you feel fairly confident going to your judgment before God? Do you believe your loving kindness will justify you before God?

"Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
    But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
    For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:"
    (Ro 3)

As the video and our faith indicate it all boils down to Love which is the highest priority.

    LOVE is the GOOD WORK.

To deny faith in Jesus Christ would break the commandment LOVE GOD, Therefore the GOOD WORK of loving God is absolutely required.

"How do you think you are doing with this Law? Pretty well? Do you feel fairly confident going to your judgment before God? Do you believe your loving kindness will justify you before God?"

GOD IS LOVE. And you challenge and spit on God, claiming GOD cannot justify us?

Its the other way around buddy. The straight command of God is what it is. Selfish only harp on what is in it for them, Gold diggers and their rewards.

God can keep salvation, We do his command for free.

You read it yourself on these two commandments HANG -->ALL THE LAW and the prophets.

Why would Law hang on Law? <-forcing your meaning.

Everything Hangs on God alone. But some folks would not know God if God slapped them upside the head.

    1 John 4

8The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

A person who is clueless to who God is projects his own selfish version of God to be God.

Our priority is not salvation but Love of Christ.

    John 14
15“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.

Our aim is higher than heaven.

    John 14

21“He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.” 22Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, what then has happened that You are going to disclose Yourself to us and not to the world?” 23Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.

    John 15

9“Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. 10“If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

Let me give you an easy challenge. Show us scripture where Jesus ridicules another for being an Athiest or damns a person of a different faith. Show where he walks up to pagans and says stop being pagans, or Samaritans and refuses to heal them.

Show us where Jesus out of his own mouth says you are saved by "FAITH ALONE."

All it takes to ruin that biggot version of divisive theology who shut the door on everyone else is a person who loves everyone. Which is why biggot would have to twist out a evil version of Jesus who hates to dissuade just the regular the merciful.

I could see all the accusations fly on judgement day from holy rollers. The twist will be we will defend them on account we think this biggot theology that vilifies Jesus was a joke all along.

    As Ben does, correct?

No meaning is forced at all except by Jesus Christ Himself. There is no mystery in what He said,

The question presented to Jesus: "Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

Do you see the topic is commandments in the Law??

The answer to the question: Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets"
    (Matt 22)

Does Jesus' answer confuse you? It would I suppose, since you do not believe what He said. Instead of believing what He said, you declare I am forcing my own meaning.

    Gal 5:14
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
    Jas 2:8
If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
