When God finished his work of creation, what did God do? What do the Scriptures reveal?
"God saw everything that He had made, and declared: SEE! All is very good! And that day the whole day was the Sixth Day evening and morning. THUS THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH AND ALL THE HOST OF THEM WERE FINISHED."

When God thus had finished his work of creation, what did God do? What do the Scriptures reveal?

Thus is the consistent relationship between the Sixth Day and the Sabbath Day throughout the Holy Scriptures “CONCERNING THE CHRIST”:

The Scriptures reveal, first, in 2:2,3 the fact that God “made”: “the Seventh Day and ON IT, BY ALL HIS WORKS FINISHED, BLESSED AND SANCTIFIED: RESTED THE SEVENTH DAY.”

The Scriptures then reveal, next, the noteworthy historical fact:
    1) At the Creation:

How—retrospectively—God on “the Sixth Day” of the earth
“from the dust of the earth”, “in the image of God” created man
and on THAT DAY had taken of Adam’s BONES [‘etsem’], his rib-bone, and “formed” Eve, “BONE of my bones, flesh of my flesh”, a “wife”.
God had made them, “man and wife”, ‘in substance’, "dust" and "bone", “in the image of God”.
But “IN THE DAY of provocation // temptation” THEY, “because of unbelief and an evil heart in departing from the Living God”,
believed not God, but chose to believe the old snake rather, and
“could not enter into the Rest of God”—
They could not enter into the rest of God of “on the Seventh Day”; and, they could not enter into “The Rest of God” BY FAITH IN CHRIST.

The Scriptures then without break reveal how God, “In the cool of day” in the dusk and evening-beginning of “the Seventh Day and Sabbath OF THE LORD GOD”, set out to find and rescue his lost sheep.

    2) Noteworthy is the historical fact, ALSO:
    At the Flood:

That “ON THE DAY OF PROVOCATION // TEMPTATION”, “the whole day BONE-DAY” [‘etsem yom’] Noah and those with him entered in into the ark while those who through “an evil heart in departing from the Living God believed not”, “could not enter into His Rest”. —Which Rest of God eight souls only believed in and consequently entered into the ARK or sanctuary or place of salvation and safe-keeping and thus in the dark of their “coffin” “were saved” in the following day from a watery grave.

    3) Noteworthy is the historical fact, ALSO:
At the giving of the Manna:

That before the exodus “IN THE DAY OF PROVOCATION // TEMPTATION”, God on “the Sixth Day” rained manna on the earth enough for on that day and the next—, “tomorrow is the Sabbath”.
But “some believed not” and gathered in manna enough for only the Sixth Day, and “through unbelief and an evil heart in departing from the Living God could not enter into the Rest of God” because they had no food to eat on the Sabbath after.

    4) Noteworthy is the historical fact, ALSO:
    At the Exodus:

That in the Passover of Yahweh, “the whole day BONE-DAY” [‘etsem yom’] the Sixth Day was “THE DAY OF PROVOCATION // TEMPTATION”.
“Through unbelief and an evil heart in departing from the Living God”, the Egyptians “believed not” but Pharaoh tempted God so that God killed his firstborn and “the Egyptians BURIED their dead”, while God “THAT DAY THE WHOLE DAY BONE-DAY” took the host of Israel and his “son Joseph" by the substance of his “BONES” in an “ARK”, “OUT of the land of Darkness” the land of their “bondage”; and on the day after, brought them in into the Rest of God “on the Seventh Day the Sabbath OF THE LORD GOD”.

    5) Noteworthy is the historical fact, ALSO:
    At mount Sinai:

That after the exodus at the giving of the Ten Commandments,
the Israelites “through unbelief and an evil heart in departing from the Living God, believed not” but “IN THE DAY OF PROVOCATION // TEMPTATION” tempted God with a golden calf while Moses was in the mount “six days”. When Moses had come down from the mountain, he BROKE the STONES of the LAW its WHOLE and SUBSTANCE like unto the dust of the earth.
Then, when after “six days, the LORD the Seventh Day CALLED Moses from the midst of the Cloud the Sight / Presence of the Glory of the LORD was like a devouring fire. And Moses went up into the midst of the Cloud.” [“The Cloud was Christ.” “Your life hid with Christ in God.”]

Thus is the consistent relationship between the Sixth Day and the Sabbath Day throughout the Holy Scriptures “CONCERNING THE CHRIST”.

"Joseph laid the body of Jesus in an ark-coffin-sepulchre that was hewn in stone / rock....and THAT DAY WAS The Preparation....The Whole-Day Bone-Day BURIAL-Day....being-mid-afternoon and the Sabbath drawing on." Luke 23:53b,54

"That Day", STARTED though, 21 hours before after sunset, and "it had become EVENING already and it had become The Preparation which is the Fore-Sabbath" the Sixth Day of the week ---BEGINNING! Mark 15:42 Matthew 27:57 John 19:31,38 Luke 23:50.
