Yeah right , how far will they go?

Here's another Discovery Channel Special that attacks Christianity.

    Bones of Jesus Found [LINK]

"With the help of statisticians, archeologists, historians, DNA experts, robot-camera technicians, epigraphers and a CSI expert from New York's Long Island, Jacobovici puts together a case in which he argues that the bones of Jesus, Mary and Mary Magdalene, along with some of their lesser-known relatives, were once entombed in this cave."

oh good grief, if you used dna, forensics, and anything else, it isn't going to prove those are anyones in particulars bones. you would have to have a dna base to compare it too. just who can you pick out of the entire world who might have any of those peoples dna, and then to prove they have the correct dna to comapre with. how stupid can they get.

A few obvious flaws blow this out of the water.

    1. DNA. as pointed out earlier by donna, how are they to prove it is Jesus by DNA?
    2. Maria. Maria is not a Hebrew name and therefore would not be the one who gave birth to Jesus. Perhaps a mexican lass moved there centuries ago?
3 Son of Jesus. There is no Biblical record that Jesus Christ fathered a child or even that He married.

While I think this theory is absolute garbage....

"Maria" is probably just a Latin form of a Hebrew name. The Romans did control Palestine at the time of Christ.

The news said that the child of Jesus, Judah, was the result of a union between Jesus and Mary Magdalene.

    Just plain garbage, I say.

At least they are smart enough to attack the most important fact about Christianity--the Resurrection. Satan and his followers aren't accused of being stupid, just evil. As the latter days progress we can be sure there will be more and more rediculous stories being fabricated such as this.
All the Disciples that walked with Jesus wouldn't have given their lives for a lie. Their fear turned to boldness when they saw the resurrected Christ.

I read all 4 pages of this article. A few things jumped off the page at me. And a couple of them were mentioned in the article.

    1. It is not probable that Joseph and Mary had the means to own a family crypt since they buried Jesus in a BORROWED tomb.

    2. It is not probable that Joseph and Mary owned a family crypt in Jerusalem since they lived in NAZARETH.

    3. It is not probable that these are/were the bones of Jesus since HE AROSE!!!

    4. It is not probable that Jesus married the Magdalene since she was a harlot and a "good' Jew would not marry such a woman with her reputation, even IF it could be established that Jesus was just a man. (which I of course do not believe for one nano-second)

    5. This clown who is making the movie admits they had to 'invent' a scientific process to establish a link between the James ossuary and this one purported to be that of Joseph and Mary.

    6. Which leads me to my final thought about this malarkey. IF the ossuary purported to be that of James, the brother of Jesus, IS authentic, then WHY was he not buried in the family crypt?

Once again Scripture is vindicated. Professing themselves to be wise they have become fools.

I'm reading, Jesus and the Eyewitnesses by Richard Bauchham
In one of the driest chapters I've read in quite a while he devotes 25 pages to the discussion of Palestinian Jewish names during the years 330 BCE to 200 CE.

    Joseph is listed as the second most common name for men of that time;
    Jesus comes in sixth.

In order, he lists these names:

    Simon/Simeon
    Joseph/Jeses
    Lazarus
    Judas
    John
    Jesus
    Ananias
    Jonathan
    Matthias

Mary is #1 one on the womans list.

of course there will be, there are always people who want to be decieved, then if Jesus isn't who He or we claim Him to be they have no responsability for sin, theres no such thing.

Personally I don't even bother reading this kind of thing. What kind of fools do they take us for? But I suppose it will draw in the gullible as usual. It's probably been scratched on with Biro or something.
Remember it wasn't long ago that the National Geographic featured an article about the Judas gospel. Probably published at such a time to coincide with the many books about Mary Magdalene and the Da Vinci code and all other similar books that have jumped on the bandwagon to take advantage of the rich pickings that satan has unearthed with his unholy plough.
This is the age of unbelief and as the devil senses that he is near his end he get more and more frantic in his destructive efforts to blaspheme God.

I think this shows that spiritual warfare is in full swing in the world today. It is all written as well.

II Peter 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last daysscoffers, walking after their own lusts,..

I agree with Scarlette as well. I feel sorry for this world as the days draw closer, even when I am debating someone who just refuses to look at issues I just feel sorry for them.

I started to say... maybe they're right, and these bones DID belong to Jesus, Mary and their progeny. But it's not my Jesus!

The purpose of the DNA samples from the 'Jesus' and the 'Mariamne' (Mary Magdalene) remains was to compare to each other. The result allegedly shows that they were not relatives (implying they may be husband and wife).
