Book Reccommedation

Hello friends in Christ,

I want to offer a book reccommendation to you. If you are struggling with your prayer life, and want to grow closer, intensly closer to Christ and His divine will check out this book:

"The Fire Within" by Father Thomas Dubay

The book teaches the methods of prayer and spiritual excersises of St. John of the Cross and St. Theresa of Avila. Both were Christian mystics who brought MANY souls to Christ as the result of deep prayer lives and the extreme sanctity which flowed from it. They taught the methods of prayer and spiritual excersizes, that help you discern how you're faring in your relationship with Christ, and allow you to reach total union with His will.

If you are not Catholic this might sound a bit far out to you, but I assure you they were avid readers of sacred scripture, and that you will find all their teachings to be both biblically sound, and VERY FRUITFULL!

This book is ROCKING MY WORLD, it makes me want to pray all the time!!

Good call on reading the sources directly, I have a copy of The collected works of St. John of the Cross, but haven't delved in yet. Fire Within is our assigned spiritual reading for the summer so I'll have to tackly it first.

I noticed that you're from Steubenville, are you a graduate from the famous Franciscan University of Steubenville?
