What are the best books you know of for Pastoral Care? I'm looking for books that suggest specifics. (anything from, broadly, how to track your ministry so that no one falls through the cracks to narrowly, ideas of what to say in certain difficult situations).

I've been in ministry for seven years and still feel like I'm trying to "find my sea legs" in this one regard. I feel like some reading on the topic might revitalize me/shake things up a bit and do me (and my flock) good.

    Thanks!

I have benefitted from Criswell's book, "Guidebook for Pastors." It's old-school, but the advice there is timeless and applicable to traditional and modern approaches because it addresses the pastor's mindset as much as technique.
