    Matthew 11:11
    Verily I say unto you,
Among them that are born of women
there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist:
notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom
of heaven is greater than he.

Jesus was among them born of women.

Do you accept this scripture as the truth?

Hebrew poetry is written with one line often echoed, sometimes enhanced and other times contrasted.

Matthew (11:11) follows this Hebrew pattern in a contrasting way.

Truly I say to you, among those born of women
there has not arisen one greater than John the Baptist.

But the one who is least
in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. (LEB)

John was born of woman in one era.
Jesus ushered in another era, the kingdom of heaven.

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation" Colossians 1:15.

Since Jesus 'outborn' any woman, he would not be considered "born of woman" as if that superseded "firstborn of all creation." This may be one of those problems presented by trying to be an absolutely literalist, along with the differing fates of Judas Iscariot or the differences in relating Paul's Damascus Road experience.

Certainly there is not Macbeth-like trick involved.

Are you really asking if I am in agreement with Jesus when he said that?

He said it, therefore it's a true statement.

Answer me this tj - Why is it true?

Jesus is identified as the exception to this statement. Jesus is the "least" or younger in age than John by 6 months. What he is saying is that except for Jesus Christ, John is greater than any other man born among women. The Greek term "least" can refer to AGE.
