Ok....I am almost over it. I hope to be able to wear my Braves cap to Charleston this weekend. At least I can consider it now without feeling a bit nauseous. :Cautious

In case anyone is wondering why JonC might be ashamed to wear his Braves cap in public, here is their post season performance over the past 19 years. Not only have they lost all of the past 10 playoff series they've been in, they've lost 5 elimination games in those 10 series, including losing last Wednesday's game 13-1, after giving up 10 runs in the 1st inning.

As a life long Met fan I know what it is like to experience annual disappointment.

Lifelong Braves fan. Thought this team was going to be different. I got in my car after work and pulled out my phone to see a 10-0 score in the first. Went home and watched Jeopardy instead. Didn’t watch one pitch of that game I was so disgusted.

1991 was a fabulous year. Have I mentioned I was at Game 7? Greatest baseball game I have ever attended. Probably the best World Series game ever, though some cite 1975 Game 6, Carleton Fisk's walk-off HR in the bottom of the 12th. But the game in 1975 led to a Game 7 which the Red Sox lost, whereas my Game 7 clinched the world championship.

The NL East promises to be very competitive for the foreseeable future. The Braves have a good young team. The Nationals proved they can win without Bryce Harper. The Phillies under performed but should get better. The Mets have good starting pitching and young talent. Fun times.

I agree. I don't think most believed the Braves would pull off the WS this year (I think they are probably a couple of years out).

It was giving up 10 runs in the first inning that was a bit over the top for me. I've been impressed with the Nationals.

I'm a Braves fan too, and was very disappointed at their collapse again this year. But more than that, I was very disappointed at the idiocy of letting the opposing pitcher, ostensibly a Cherokee, disallow the "tomahawk chop."

What idiocy, letting a single member of the opposing team dictate anything at all about your team, much less something that your fans enjoy doing to encourage the team. Political correctness run wild. :( I quit wearing my own Braves cap and haven't put it back on.

And I thought we were friends!

My favorite team is anyone who beats the Braves.

Oh, we're friends all right. I pray for friends who have slipped and fallen like you apparently have. :Biggrin

Ok....I did not wear a cap (it was cloudy anyway).

Friday I grabbed a pair of swimming trunks to pack. I felt something in my pocket and found $170 I must have misplaced a few months ago. That was good.

The Yankees are out, that is good.

I found a place selling blue crabs and picked up 3 dozen. That was good.

So I am OK. You guys do not have to worry about me having a crisis or anything. As a Braves fan I am ok with disappointment.

I'm a Nationals fan for the remainder of the post-season.

Braves, Falcons, and Bulldawgs all three guaranteed to blow the big games.

There is no way I can root for another NL East team.

Oh, to live in Jersey or Maryland again! As a teenager, I used to go crabbing in Barnegat Bay every summer. When my wife and I lived in Maryland blue crabs were part of that state's culture. Thankfully, I found a place in Florida that catches its own crabs in the Peace River and Charlotte Harbor.
