But what a setback for America during the last 8 years. I fear we will never recover from Bush's disgraceful two terms as president. All great countries in the past finally went down in disgrace. I fear that our time is now.

You doubt this? The dotcom bubble was bursting at the time Bush was elected the first time. On 9/17/01, the first day the NYSE was open after the attack, the NYSE experienced its worst single day fall ever. The recession was short-lived, but it happened.

Carpro's right, the credit for not having a 2nd terrorist attack in 7 years after 9/11 should be laid at Bush's feet. While invading Afghanistan was the right move, invading Iraq has been, at best, ill-advised. Bush's biggest failure was the response to Hurricane Katrina. Bush put somebody in charge of FEMA who didn't seem to have any business being in charge of FEMA and it cost him.

Are you a naturally fearful person?

Try Psalms 27:1 for a quick pickmeup.

No. I put my trust in the Lord. Perhaps this was a poor choice of words. I should of said.

I predict that our time is now.

You're probably wrong, as well as being overly dramatic.

We survived the criminality of Nixon, the idiocy of Carter and the sleeze of Clinton.

Surviving Bush, whose only crime has been to try to protect us from our enemies, will be a breeze.

    BTW He has been successful.

Bush's legacy is sealed. He is at or near the bottom of past presidents.

    Yes it is The Beatles

Carpro is a piece of work! can always depend on him on not wasting our time with his short quips of irresponsibility, it is rather entertaining.

but not as entertaining as the Beatles

Exactly how did Bush "save us" from another attack? By securing the borders? Securing the ports? Or maybe busting a bunch of FBI informants, er alleged terrorists?

What did he do to save us all?

    Recently in the news:
Stephen Hatfill just got 5.8 million dollar settlement because it was not proven that he was the Anthrax terrorist that shut down Congress and DC with people dieing in the process, there is still and Anthrax terrorist on the loose and I believe that happened after Sept 11, 2001 so your
thesis of no terrorist attack after Sept. 11 just flys out the window, now doesn't it.

Look forward to your one quip reply that makes me laugh
does that make Bush "gooder" now hahahahahahahahahahaha

The obvious answer to that is that whoever mailed antrax spores in the weeks after 9/11, it probably was not Al Qaeda, and not associated with them. It's not really Al Qaeda's style to give their victims suggestions on how to avoid death. (Several of the letters informed recipients that penicillin would kill the antrax spores).

I'm glad to see you're having such an enjoyable day.

I did not think there would be another one. They had blown several other attempts and I knew we would become much more security minded. That was a given. I did not know at the time how the Bush admin. would trample our civil rights and the disasters Bush would inflict on the US.

"Having just suffered the deadliest attack ever on U.S. soil, huge percentages believed another attack was imminent....The United States then quickly went to war in Afghanistan, closing down a terrorist sanctuary and capturing or killing a number of high-level al Qaeda operatives in the process. Since 2001, terrorists have found their targets on almost every continent, with bombings in Bali, London, Madrid, and elsewhere...however, America has yet to experience another attack." - Foreign Policy Magazine

This doesn't answer my question. It's a fairly simple one too.

Yep, and whether or not it was AlQaeda behind the anthrax attacks (I don't think they were), it was still a terrorist act. Bush has captured neither Bin Laden, nor found the perpetrator of the anthrax terror attacks. He instead shredded the Bill of Rights and used the attacks to justify his desire to go get "the guy that tried to kill my dad"; all the while enriching his oil buddies with taxpayer dollars and no bid contracts. The man is a criminal of the worst order.
