We are beginning to see the supposed compassion of a liberal. And, I thought that "Logan's Run" would never become a reality.

Not sure where your information is coming from, but I've heard firsthand accounts from people who were in Terry's hospital room who dispute this.

I guess we will just disagree then. If what MP posted was true, and I believe him, what you say is impossible. Maybe your firsthand accounts don't tell the whole story.

You can do what you want just don't force death on those who choose life! Frankly I don't see much about suicide that is dignified!

It's there for all to see. I do find it interesting you singled me out as the liar, when at least 4 others have also said the same thing I did.

    Affordable for Who?

Medicare reimbursements for patient care has erroded over recent years.
The Obama Administration and Congress are proposing aggressive additional reforms that significantly affect the physicians ability to provide the full measure of service that is currently offered to patients and will reduce the quality of those services.

Reimbursement cuts of 15-25 percent may force physicians to make difficult business decisions such as closing offices and eliminating staff and reducing services to patients.

    • Congress (via health reform) proposes to slash payments for imaging services such as MRI, PET, CT and nuclear procedures
    • Medicare (via our fee schedule) wants to cut payments to echocardiography, ultrasound and nuclear medicine – by up to 42 percent for some procedures.
    • Medicare also proposes to pay physicians less to cover the costs of running a practice: rent, staff salaries, utilities, malpractice insurance, and other basic expenses.

If enacted, these reimbursement cuts will significantly change the way in which physicians provide services to patients:

    • They will have longer wait times for appointments, tests, and results.
    • It will restrict access to services that are critical to the successful management of our cardiac patients.
    • If our patients turn to local hospitals for their cardiac care, they will face higher out-of-pocket co-pays and even longer wait times for appointments, tests and results. And services delivered in the hospital setting cost taxpayers MUCH more than the same services provided in the doctor’s office.

    Last year we watched as Congress disregarded the underfunded Social Security administration;
Congress and the Obama administration continues to ignore the crisis
Instead they feign concern about health care.

Do you really want government to provide your health care and your retirement.
It seems to be a conflict of interest!

    Rob

And maybe the information that MP remembers wasn't true. Or, maybe the information that was released wasn't true. The sum total of your research seems to be what MP posted in this thread. I'm not suggesting that MP is a liar, but I am suggesting that you haven't done your research.

I would go beyond suggesting what you did. I would say it is a fact. A parrot can repeat after others.

I've given my view, you just don't like it and find it easier to take pot shots instead of dealing with the facts.

In case you missed it: I am in favor of a universal, government operated, health care system for the American people. The other industrial countries have made it work and it can work here.

Also, we will have this here in spite of what the republican's say or do. This current bill may not pass, but in the end, we democrats will prevail on this matter, just wait and see.

That post right there shows your true colors. You are part of the same, old, tired mindset of Democrat vs Republican. You offer no solutions to the problems of this nation. We have had Democrats in charge of Congress and the White House lots of my life, and all they do is make things so bad the Republicans get elected, do the same thing, and the cycle starts over. You vision goes about as far as the end of your nose.

Robert, you seem to be having some trouble here. Please let me help.

What pot shot are you referring to? Do you mean the post where saturneptune told the truth about your view? That's not a pot shot and you have no business being outraged over it.

Since MP's post is what you base your view on, that means that you haven't done your research. Since you haven't done your research, the statement by saturneptune stands.

FTR, my firsthand accounts are from people who were in Mrs. Schiavo's hospital room.

If their systems work so much better than ours, why does the US have the best cancer survival rate?

Brilliant idea...we can let those who brought us FEMA, the Two Million Dollar "recovery.gov" ham, the IRS, and bozos in Congress...we can let them run our healthcare.

Can't think of a better plan.

They have never made it work. They simply let some folks go untreated and euthanize others.

And if not for American foreign aid, those countries would have disappeared altogether.
