Obama said: "If you misrepresent what’s in the plan, we will call you out."

Should we call him out instead on the following misrepresentation - otherwise known as lies - in his plan? "... Add it all up, and the plan I’m proposing will cost around $900 billion over ten years – less than we have spent on the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and less than the tax cuts for the wealthiest few Americans that Congress passed at the beginning of the previous administration. Most of these costs will be paid for with money already being spent – but spent badly – in the existing health care system. The plan will not add to our deficit. The middle-class will realize greater security, not higher taxes. And if we are able to slow the growth of health care costs by just one-tenth of one percent each year, it will actually reduce the deficit by $4 trillion over the long term."

    Here's an idea.

Why doesn't Obama first deliver these mythical savings of $500,000,000,000 in Medicare by eliminating the waste and fraud without raising taxes while showing that medical care to seniors will not suffer ?

Once he does that he should have no problem getting every man, woman and child in America on board with a national Medicare program for everyone ! :applause:

Seems reasonable to me. Why do you suppose he doesn't do that?

Could it be because in order to deliver them, you have to implement the plan???

Why does he have to implement a health care plan to eliminate waste and fraud in Medicare?

Just eliminate the waste and fraud.

Obama said: "Most of these costs will be paid for with money already being spent – but spent badly – in the existing health care system."

Most means more than the lessor part and implies some sort of majority component. It has to mean at least 51% and maybe more like 67%. So that means, according to Obama, there's at least $45.9 billion per year of money being "spent badly" now. What realistic changes have been proposed that would actually reduce costs by that amount and how would such "savings" actually move from whatever account they're now spent from - public or private - into a credit to the proposed $900 billion public expenditures? It is much more likely, based on the sum total of government experience, that the amount "spent badly" will increase at least proportionally to the total spent. Whatever is recovered - collected by taxes - from private sources would, most likely, be spent far less efficiently by government and not on anything related to the source of savings. Government doesn't let go of new revenue sources. It always finds a way to expand the scope of it's programs. Government generally promotes itself.

We see in Obama's statement " We will Call You Out" his dictatorial mind set. This may be the mindset he learned as a street walker for the Daly machine in Chicago.

Obama has already been called out, isn't that why he's now responding by going on TV and giving speeches?

Because we've already waited since Clinton took office to provide medical care for the poor. How can you call yourself a "Christian" if you oppose this objective?

But if he were to save $500,000,000,000 on Medicare without reducing health care for seniors and without raising taxes then he would have all that money to use for health care for the poor !!!!

Why are you against having $500,000,000,0000 for health care for the poor ?

How can a Christian be against $500,000,000,000 for health care for the poor if it doesn't cost anyone anthing ?

    I am shocked !!!

BTW - don't the poor get health care through Medicaid and at any medical facility that they just walk into?

Perhaps the same way you call yourself Christian while you support a rabid abortionist.

We have been over this before. Your last question shows an extreme lack of understanding of government, compassion, and Scripture.

These are the facts. Facts mean the way things really are, and not parroting the Democratic line.

    1. Compassion and liberalism have nothing to do with each other.
    2. Addressing the Scripture first, or as you put it being a "Christian," the Bible tells US and the LOCAL CHURCH to care for the needy and poor. That does not mean the federal government. It seems in other threads you have a great deal of trouble distinguishing between the church and the government. Personally, I would be looking up to the sky for the big thumb or a lightning bolt if I even hinted that a Holy God had any association with the corrupt thugs running both parties. Common sense says the two do not mix. Have you ever heard of seperation of church and state+
    3. No where in the Constitution does it give the federal government power to take control of part of or all of the health care system. By the way, the Democratic platform and the Constitution are not the same document.

They are lies if you can show proof. If not you're just ranting against your known enemy. That's not very convincing.

Depends on how poor that poor is.
I mean, the economic standards by which poverty or being poor is mentioned, to qualify for medicaid, seems to me to be pretty outdated.
I tried to apply for medicaid once, not that I wanted to, but that was the direction the people at a Western New York hospital steered me to in answer to my query on how an underemployed, underpaid, uninsured working man can possibly get the medical attention he needed.
The requirement stated I should be making less than one thousand dollars a month plus some other rather silly requirements.
I mean, like, if somebody were earning less than a thousand dollars a month, he was not only poor, he was most likely panhandling poor (figure of speech).
Now, somebody earning more than a thousand dollars a month but less than a thousand five hundred a month, plus the number of mouths he feeds, given the cost of living and today's economy, is he not poor ?
Well, he can try applying for medicaid, but I'm almost ninety nine percent sure, he'll be disapproved.

    OK...so,

An entity which is wasting hundreds of billions of dollars is to be trusted to implement a larger program...paid for with the "savings" of the waste and fraud they created???

Who on earth is stupid enough to buy this garbage???

Oh, and while we're at it: This is the feller that said, "If you like your plan, you can keep it."

    Liar.

Now call me out, Mr. President.
