In honor of the Luther movie being released and in good TIC humor, I thought it would be fun to see what a movie about Calvin would be like. Here are a few ideas:

    1. I am guessing it will be in LIMITED release.

    2. They will probably NOT advertise it. They can't! Those who are supposed to see the movie will be drawn irresistibly to the theaters, against their will. Advertising would mean sharing the movie with the unwashed heathens, for whom the movie was obviously not made!

    3. If any unbelievers do make it into the movie, they will only see a black screen until the movie is over.

    4. Once you are seated, you cannot get out of your seat. You are forced to persevere in your seat until the end.

    Any other thoughts???

If you happen to be in the theatre, and break a rule, and try to teach that the popcorn actually has butter, when the establishment has pronounced otherwise, you will be burned at the stake.

I don't get number 3. Nevermind. I see that it says unbelievers. The first time I read it I thought that is said believers. Okay... I get it now.

    The cast:

Leonardo De Caprio as the young Calvin

The English actor Jude LAW as the adult Calvin.

The cast from WILL and GRACE as extras and minor speaking roles.

    Jesse Ventura as the Pope

Reba McIntyre as Idolette De Bure (Calvin's wife).
    (Just cause I like Reba)

    Sean Connery as John Knox.

Any old French limp wrist as King Francis

Will they be giving out free tulips with every ticket purchase?

I wonder how the movie would be if George Lucas directed it?

hmmm John Calvin as seen in the mind of Lucas Arts Ltd. Where would the light sabres fit in? LOL [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

There is one problem with major B's casting. If the pope character is based on Julius II (the most likely choice with Jesse Ventura), secular audiances are going to think that he is the hero of the film. [IMG]

I personally don't mind that. Julius II is one of the great renaissance kings, whose biggest flaw was that great renaissance kings make not so great religious leaders.

On the other hand them not understanding, it fits nicely with Calvinist ideology.

For those who don't know about old Julius, he for one thing used to lead the armies of the Papal State himself... from the front.
