In another thread it was claimed, without any evidence I might add, that it is difficult for black men to get hired as police officers because of racist standards.

Does anyone know of any of them?

Actually, I believe it's easier for a black man to become a police officer than it is for a white man because of trying to fill "quotas" (not that there are official ones but they still want more black cops on the force so they will hire a black man over a white man). I don't have evidence but I've heard it from cops.

My friend is a bi-racial police officer. Does that count?

I'd be interested in real statistics, rather than hearsay and people's opinions.

For instance, in a police department like Ferguson, which has 50 white officers on a force of 53, how many applications come in from each racial group? I would guess that the number of black applicants is very low.

That's what I've said too. So many say that they don't have enough black officers but the question is how many of the applicants are black and how many are white? From that pool, what percentage of either one is actually qualified to do the job? THEN let's see if it's racially biased one way or the other.

Which is where the problem comes from. Race baiters will say see and quote the 50 vs. 53 state and claim that is clear evidence as racism.

You're obviously having a problem reading as what you quoted didn't say anything about any racist standards.

No of course not. Comparing them to Jim Crow laws in no way implies it at all.

Sure doesn't. If I want to say racist, I'll say racist. You won't have to assume I implied anything.

    As I didn't write racist, don't assume that's what I meant.

I don't have to assume. That is what you are all about. It is what you accuse everyone of who had a different view than you or our racist President. It is at the heart of your very nature. It is who you are.

You OBVIOUSLY do as you've attributed something to me that I didn't say but that you've decided that I must have meant.

You are dubbed race baiter extraordinaire.

What would be these "qualifying standards" that are keeping black men out of the force? I agree that I'm reading this as racist standards since it's "keep"ing the number of black men on the force low.

I'm not on the force in Ferguson nor doing the hiring so I couldn't say with specificity what they are.

I think a lot of you keep confusing racist and prejudiced or biased. I haven't mentioned ANYTHING about any racist standards.

If they meet the qualifications, pass the physical and academy ... bring it on. And the moment they shoot a person of another color skin, let them take the heat like Wilson. Oh, wait...I don't think other races riot over a cop doing their job. Maybe an all black police force would end all the uproar when a cop has to protect their own life.

Hey brudda, we can all read between the lines of what you write, as well as the small print at the bottom of each page you comment on. And all of them are veiled racism.
