Hopefully, any clothing one wears is cut close to one's bodily figure. I'd look a bit ridiculous wearing an xl, when I'm a med.

But seriously, your claim is extremely subjective, not to mention, inaccurate. But it does suggest a preoccupation with sexual carnality for you.

None of my casual attire, my wife's casual attire, or my children's casual attire, whether such attire be in church or out of church, is remotely immodest, thus effectively rebutting your claim.

And I'm sure you've never seen a tight fitting, low cut dress.

    Guitar,

Usually the first bit of praying I do every morning is when I'm in the shower. BTW, I'm a dude in case you think I'm being a little foward.
Shannon is a good Irish girl's name but I'm a dude.
I was simply refering back to your worship anywhere anytime post. I gotta a good chuckle on that one even though it is true.

[IMG] Wow, this thread needs to be moved to the clean humor section of the BB! [IMG]

For those who equate casual attire with a casual approach to God please keep in mind that only God knows a person's heart, and He alone is the judge of their sincerity. Everything else is unnecessary conjecture on your part. We should be worshipping God no matter where we are or what we are wearing. Besides a person can take just as much time putting on casual wear and getting ready for church, as they do putting on a suit and tie, or dress.

    Hey Shannon,

My sister is named Shannan (spelled with an a instead of an o) and my next door neighbor (and good friend) is a very large, very manly man named Shannon. So I never make assumptions.

I also agree with the poster. Modest apparel doesn't allow for provocative dress. Meaning hot pants or cut off shorts and tight fitting tee shirts, with catching slogans printed on the front.

We should dress in comfortable attire that is RESPECTFUL to THOSE AROUND US, as not to draw attention to us when we enter the church. The unsaved are not accountable, but certainly the saints of God should dress decently in the house of God. We should be a living example of decency to the world and those around us.

Yes, we should be dressed decently, (i.e., modestly), when we attend church. I doubt anyone disagrees with that sentiment. The problem lies in the assumption that casual dress equates to immodest dress, and vice versa. Immodestly can exist in all forms of dress, whether casual or dressy. Anyone claiming truth to such an argument is either blind, or ignores the plain obvious. As there is no obvious scripture in support of either side, wear what you want to church, and permit your brother or sister, in Christ, to do the same. In the end it doesn't matter what you wear, only where your heart is. If we are focussing on what our neighbor is wearing, how on earth are we concentrating on worshipping God to the fullest?

This is true, however, brown could mean that you've sinned so many times, they have been seared (kind of like a conscience).

I, of course, only wear white shoelaces. [IMG] [IMG]
