Homebound mentioned the supposed quote by Pope Leo XIII concerning being on earth as the Almighty God. Can someone verify this as coming from the Pope himself..? I found Encyclicals in the Vatican Archives but didn't arrive at that statement.

    Thanks

So you believe in atonement by works then Carson?

Care to explain Cardinal Cajetan's "A Commentary on all the Authentic Historical Books of the Old Testament" which was published in 1518 (i.e. before Trent) which did not include the Apocrypha, especially given the "ecumenical council" which you quote? Surely if it had been universally held that the Apocryphal books were authentic Biblical books he would have included at least some of the Apocryphal books. Do you know where the Bible says Nebuchadnezzar reigned and do you know where Judith says he reigned? Do you know what immoral practice Judith used to save the day? Do you know how old Tobit was when he died? Was he 158 or 209+ ? And that's not even a complete list of objections.

I told you before, that "Speaking in tongues" which is the evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, as well as the nine gifts of the Spirit did not cease!

For those who are intrested, go to "google.com" and type in "The Witness in Church History: Tongues! Chapter eleven tells it all. [IMG]

    Faith:
    Non Baptist Christian
Nothing would please me more than to discover that the late Fr. Ken Ryan of Catholic Digest was wrong in his view that "This is the New Covenant in My blood" is taken by the RCC to be a reference to the RC mass - exclusively - and therefore restricts participation in the New Covenant to Catholics.

IF you have a quote showing that non-Catholics DO participate IN the New covenant WITHOUT participating in the Catholic mass - please provide it.

IF you have a quote showing that the RCC does NOT limit the definition of the New Covenant to the Catholic Mass - but rather leaves it with God such that non-Catholics participate just as Catholics do - please provide that quote.

Non-Catholics do not pariticipate in the Catholic mass or in any of the Catholic services, sacraments, practices. IF that STILL places them under the New Covenant - please show an offical Catholic source that will say that.

As it is - it is apparent that the RCC DOES focus on that Sacrament rather than allowing non-Catholics to participate in the New Covenant apart from RC sacraments.

You seem to be making my point.

    In Christ,

    Bob
