Today, Sunday, May 20, is our church's [Lighthouse Christian Fellowship, Antioch, TN {located in the SE area of Metro Nashville}] annual Celebration Sunday.

Looking back over the last two years, we as a local congregation, have a whole lot to celebrate for God's goodness to us!

In the May, 2010, flood that occurred in the Nashville area, our pre-school facilities were totally destroyed. Our thanks goes to the FBC of Antioch for allowing us the temporary use of their SS facilities for our pre-school. God put it on the hearts of the "Extreme Makeover" TV program and a lot of local contractors to build us a brand new state-of-the-art pres-school building--something we could have never afforded to build on our own!

Also in that same flood, our Christian school's [Lighthouse Christian School] newly-renovated baseball fields and equipment storage buildings (bats, gloves, etc.) were also destroyed. God put it on the hearts of many people to work very hard to restore the damaged fields and to help purchase new equipment for our LCS baseball team. Last week the LCS baseball team won the state championship of the TN Assn of Christian Schools Athletetic Assocation!

Even more importantly, many people not only from our own congregation but also teams from all over the US volunteered to restore/rebuild many of the flood-ravaged homes in our local community. As a result of this outreach, we were given not only the opportunity to help many folks who probably would never darken a church house door, but also to tell them about our Jesus!

One of the iconic images of the Nashville flood was the video of one of our portable buildings floating down Interstate 24 and finally breaking up by the flood waters. We had designated that building as our "Hope Building."
While the flood may have destroyed a building named "Hope," the real SOURCE of our Hope is alive and well!!

Please celebrate with us God's wonderful goodness not only to us as a local congregation, but also to all of us who are His children through the blood of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ!!! :godisgood:
