Well I guess we need to see the whole text of Obama’s speech to determine the context. If he’s implying that we cannot rely on sending our military to all points of the world to achieve our national security objectives, then I agree. The more we interfere with other nations the more hated these United States become and the threat against us becomes more serious. We can’t and shouldn’t police the world.

If “civilian national security force” as implied by Obama means our police force, CIA, FBI, military (we can have a strong military and not be deployed all over the world policing) and even our National Guard as being well funded, then I would also agree. We spend more money on space exploration than our own law enforcement.

All of this is worded as such in our Constitution, which we are getting away from.

The 2012 thing is big in the New Age. It's sad if Christians are buying into that! It comes from a Mayan cycle of time. 2012 is the end of a certain age/cycle according to them.

I did a workshop on this (2012) back around 2000.

I do not put stock in Mayan prophecies or predictions and no Christian should.

How can I know what the context is without first reading Obama's entire speech?

Protestants do this all the time with the Popes speeches...Isolate one or two sentences and draw a conclusion based on that.

This doesn't mean I'm a Obama supporter, only now I tend to seek the whole truth of anything, instead of drawing faulty conclusions based on limited knowledge. You could be right in your conclusions...i don't know.

To be honest I haven't really drawn any conclusions. I hope Obama turns out to be a good president though I have my doubts especially with his cabinate choices. I really don't want to be socialist though it seems thats the direction we are going in. As much as I like the rumination of whether Obama's the Anti-Christ or even a type of anti-christ the truth is he has certain good qualities (as far as we know) he's a family man and faithfull (as far as we know) to his wife. He loves his children. From what I know of the Anti-christ he is supposidly a "man of sin" now is it talking about one aspect or a life style? I go with the latter.

The truth about the american financial problem and the abortion issue is this. The Majority of Americans were greedy got loans they could not afford emphasised the government to send money to each of their locals by their representatives. Wall street played off of this greed due to their own greed. Living off credit became acceptable culturally until it got to the point of being as a requirement in our lifestyles. Polititians just continued this type of thinking with not only their personal lives but that of the government. We wern't choosy with what countries to do business no matter how corupt like China. We just saw several Billion consumers over there and fantisised about our wallets growing. The business perspective of Globalization was that there would be less hinderences or costs to operations by being able to choose the cheapest labor yet have a largest market to sell to. CEOs have little to no view of national identity or responsibility. for them it was all about the short term profits rather than slow steady responsible growth. In the end we may have a one world monetary system but its due to our greed rather than a person or an anti-christ. Morally, we have been bankrupt for some time. I would not support Obama on one primary issue and that is abortion. It's wrong plain and simple. However, abortion has been legal in this country for years. People constantly want to choose to play without paying the price. There is little sence of personal responsibility. I can't tell you the number of women who have told me when they got knocked up how their boyfriends told them to have an abortion. It is used primarily as birth control. No matter what the pudents say. It is acceptable in society and its wrong. Honestly, God should have judged us long ago but instead I think he'll just let us reap the consequences of our activity nationally. Which is already happening. Liberty has been loosing for some time. We don't have the freedoms we once did when I was younger and I'm sad to have lost it. In truth, we are a socialist nation even now we just are following Europes lead and in the end we'll have the same problems.

2012 and the Age of Aquarius are not connected. However, some New Agers may be making a connection between them or saying that these 2 things are converging. However, historically, culturally, and philosophically, these are two very different and unrelated things.
