    Hey folks -

Please look at this page for me. You don't have to read it or anything:

    http://www.baptistboard.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=28;t=001097;p=2

Does the text table appear wider than normal pages on the BB? In other words, do you need to use the horizontal scroll bar on the monitor to see all of the text?

If so, please let us know your Operating System, Browser (and version), and screen resolution. A few of us moderators have this problem on a few pages and we have yet to figure out why. I'm just hoping to find some common denominators here. Thanks.

As always, some of the supergeeks may have an answer already. [IMG]

Yep. And here's another bug (though you might not want to hear about it LOL)...

When I click on a forum and then a thread, read a thread and then use the back key, some of the topics under the forum are missing that were there the first time.

Quite a puzzle. It wasn't always that way, just recently.

I can't tell you anymore than that, cause I'm not a geek (yet).

    But thanks for listening. :D

I have Windows XP Home on my computer. I am in the 800x600 view. In IE 6 the length is messed up. In Netscape 6 and 4.7 the length is also messed up.

IE 6 and Netscape 6 has the right length at 1152x864. Netscape 4.7 doesn't fit even in the display size of 1280x1024.

Yes, but not much wider... I had to overlap two windows to see the difference.

    Not here.

    Mac OS X 10.2
Internet Exploder 5.2.1 for OS X
    1024 x 768

On browser's I don't use much (OS and settings the same):

Netscape 7.0 - the window is extremely wide and hard to read. I have to use the scroll bar to read it.

OmniWeb 4.1 - the window is exactly the same size

Opera 5.0.498 - the window is extremely wide and hard to read. I have to use the scroll bar to read it.

Clint: Windows ME, Netscape 6.1, 800x600 at 32-bit True Color.

It's so wide I have to scroll twice to get to the far right.

With IE 5.5, the table is no nearly so wide, although I still have to scroll a bit.

I appreciate all the responses! [IMG] Now the next question is:

For those of you who have a normal view, is the link in this post by (Georgia 2002) broken into more than two lines?

    http://www.baptistboard.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=28;t=001097;p=2#000027

I just tried posting the three lines of that link in question and it messed up this page as well! It wasn't even the whole link. I segmented the three seperate lines (including the text "chapter 35" which is not part of the link).

This is good! Even if we can't fix the problem, at least the moderators can fix the link (by giving it a name). This should help a lot with viewing the pages! The webmaster had suspected the links may have been the problem.

Funny though, it doesn't happen to EVERY page with a long link. Check this post out:

    http://www.baptistboard.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=25;t=000198#000005

If any of you have problems with the wide text table, you can link me to it in here and we can do something about it now!

    WOOHOO! :D

I don't understand the question... What's a "normal" view? The link is either two or three lines depending upon how wide my window is...

I'm sorry, on a board steeped with debate, I should certainly define "normal." :D

I mean those of you who see the page completely side to side without the use of the horizontal scroll bar.

Thanks for the qualification, Baptist Believer.

The easiest solution to this problem is to NOT post long URLs directly in the message box. On some screens long URLs show as one line (resulting in wide pages), on others (like mine) it's broken up into 2-3 lines and shown "normal".

When posting a link, please click on the URL button (next to the graemlins), enter the site URL and description into the popup window and this problem is solved. [IMG]

Sorry. Wasn't trying to be a pain... [IMG] I thought that maybe you were referring to some sort of standard screen resolution.

For the record, my Mac at home and the Windows 2000 machine I use at work both actively scale everything in the browser except the text size. Whether the link mentioned takes two or three lines depends on the size of my browser window at the time.
