    Any chess players?

Anyone know of a way BaptistBoard folks could play against each other online?

I like chess but I'm not very good at it. Yahoo has chess online, but I've never played there.

I've played there occasionally. Hard to find opponents that aren't messing with you. At least that's been my experience.

I've played tournament chess for about 22 years. I'd be happy to play online at a site or through e-mail at any time controls.

An excellent web site is www.letsplaychess.com

This is what is called e-mail chess. Depending on how the game is set up each person has anywhere from one to fifteen days to make a move. This allow a person to play but not have to be online continuously for the entire game. You can play for free. If you want to join tournments you have to join. I believe it is about $20.00 year. People from all over the world play here at all levels of skill. As you play you are automatically given a rating depending on your wins and losses.

I've played on that site a few times and enjoyed a tournament or two there. We can also play through direct e-mails. The BB mods seem pretty anxious to remove any unnecessary posts they possibly can, so I assume we can't play here.

It's been a while since I played chess online. There was a site that I really enjoyed but I don't recall what it was. I did find this one that looks pretty good - http://gameknot.com.

And I managed to avoid MySpace and Facebook for so long....sigh.

Ah well, I submitted a request to join the group. Who's in charge of accepting?

    Roger I think...

Facebook is more professional than myspace...
It is like the grown up version of myspace.

At first I didn't like Facebook, but now I do.

I may have to join so I can play. Is it like playing on a board or playing using notation?
