Chicago-exit

Between 2000 and 2010, it is estimated that 181,000 Blacks left Chicago. (Many of them moved to Indianapolis) Chicago once was the Second City of the USA. Then Chicago was overtaken by Los Angeles when the American manufacturing sector became the rust belt. Now Chicago is the fourth city, overtaken this time by Houston, Texas.

It is thought that Rahm Emanuel, Mayor of Chicago, is trying to gentrify Chicago by displacing poor resident with upper-middle class people who renovate old housing, etc.

Blacks and others are leaving Chicago because of very high taxes, lack of jobs, over-priced rents and housing, and high crime. A quarter of a million homes in Chicago are mortgaged for more than they are worth, by far the largest number of underwater homes in the USA. Blacks remaining in Chicago do not have very high wages.

 

Sadly, Indy already has the same percentage murder rate as Chicago. Both cities used to be nice places. Indy has had white flight for a long time. There are a lot of low-paying jobs available in Indy but you really need a car to get to them. Hopefully, Trump will bring more and more minorities into the GOP. Latinos like Trump because they like owning small businesses.

Chicago has major museums and many major universities such as Moody Bible Institute. It's rust belt now and very, very dangerous even in the best neighborhoods.
