The Chinese are developing their own star wars program with anti-satellite capability.

    http://www.cnn.com/2007/TECH/space/01/18/china.missile/index.html

The Clinton administration claimed that technology leaks under their administration did not help the Chinese with military technology.

Of course, we were also told that their space program had no military potential.

PS - we (the USA) do not have an official anti satellite program that I am aware of.

    EG,

A few years ago I did hear that the Air Force was testing an ASAT missile to be fired by an F-15, but haven't heard anything more. I also understand DoD is testing various kinds of lasers but I don't know if they are for an ASAT application.

Good for them. Wonder if they will make a deal with the space aliens as we obviously have. <G>

China will with over a billion people in population (1.3 billion in July 2006, the US has a population of around 300 million) contains 20% of the entire world's population is now, since Deng Xiaoping, really catching up technologically, militarily and economically to become a major superpower in the world. Currently Missionaries are not allowed to be there, even though they are under the guise of other reasons. Bibles are illegal in most provinces unless they are registered with the government. I do believe they will be the most powerful nation in the world someday very soon, and only 3 to 4% are admitted Christians. They are now the sleeping giant.

One important statistic is that they have a 200 million man army.

Another thing people need to keep in mind about China is that they execute political prisoners (meaning a lot of Christians) to sell their body parts. It's a big business.

From a military standpoint, they have had missiles pointed at us for years while we happily shop at Wal-Mart buying their cheap junk.

Not only that, China is successfully drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico, literally sucking the oil out from under us, so to speak.

And, of course, we can thank dufus ex-President Jimmy Carter (Democrat) for handing the Panama Canal over to Panama for FREE after it was paid for with American tax dollars, who then turned it over to the Chinese to "manage." Nice to know China is so close to us and that at any given time, could (in theory) refuse to let passage of American vessels. Or have submarines in the Gulf with nuclear warheads or those bombs that mess up communications so close to our shores.

But, when one is a globalist none of the above matter. We can thank Richard Nixon (Republican) for paving the way for free trade with China and all presidents since then have added their own special touches to enable China to become so powerful from American consumers and taxes.

Ask me again why I have no use for politicians from either party. They've ALL sold us out, Folks.

The Chinese require missionaries to work and produce something good for the society as a whole. I do believe that is in the best interests of their country and see nothing wrong with that.

They are NOT catching up technologically - they were given (actually they were allowed to steal) large amounts of technology during a previous administration. And they were given jobs that we (the USA) were promised would go to Mexico to keep their people working at home instead of illegally immigrating. At the present rate of outsourcing AMERICAN (political theft) jobs to china, they will surpass our economy within the next 20 years.

If they are able to make the technology that they stole work, then we will face the worlds greatest super power within 80 years.

China has also sold technology (that originated from us) to Iran. Nice.
