What would you say a Christian should look from according the bible in its leaders?
Please don’t name names but, do give proof from Gods word. Leave current day problems out but deal with attributes and characteristic.

    Hmmmm

How about the edict that they shouldn't Lord it Over God's Flock? And, apply it as a 'national' leadership vs national flock?

Both parties have their share of 'elitest' attitudes... But, which one tries to trap and maintain those less fortunate through give-away programs...

I think the arrogance and haughtiness that says Americans aren't smart enough to think for themselves fits in with the above scripture, too...

Kinda like Clergy saying that if you haven't got a PhD you can't know you're saved...

Then going around and dumbing down the education system so that you can't get a *real* education if you wanted it...

    (Like churches dropping Sunday School.)

The Golden Rule? That would be a nice thing to find in a candidate...

    Or the absence of
Again, both parties violate *all* of these items...

The question is... Which one is intentionally missing the mark... And, which one is trying to hit the mark?

David was a man after God heart.
Is there something in he we should look at?
    Is so what?

Hebrews 13:7, "Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith."

I look for the result of a man who has been walking with God and see how he lives out his faith.

In considering David we also have to consider his weaknesses....

    Even though forgiven...

Even though a Man after God's Own Heart...

    He sinned very deeply...

Even the best of us are vulnerable...

And, we need loving accountability mixed liberally with Grace and Mercy to keep us on track...

Do you think we should look at some of the qualifications for an elder in Titus?

Hey! I resemble that remark... [IMG]

    Technically correct... But,...

I did give a list of things we should be looking for the *absence* of. [IMG]

    Which list specifically in Titus?

    How about?
If it's good for the 'lower echelons' surely it must be binding on those higher up?

One of the biggest 'winking at sin' is 1 Timothy 3:13. Ruling one's house well and having obedient children....

*How* one rules is also important:
Sacrificial leadership of love at home...
If they 'Lord it over' their on homes...

They will more than likely 'Lord it over' God's Flock...

For a family man that's not just food and raiment... It includes daddy and hubby time.

Last of all we *must* have these two attributes:
    -and-
    Does this help? :D
