That's been my experience with many Christian Messageboards also. Too many of them are flooded with atheist trolls that post day and night.

    God Bless.

One must remember that they are on someone elses private property when posting on a forum, so you have to abide by their rules when there. Rules vary depending on where you are at.

On onlinebaptist, someone mentioned that MVs were only good for burning. I took some offense to that (suggesting to burn Gods word, I believe, is blasphemy)- and I'm sure if it were posted here they would have been banned or at least had their post snipped since attacks like that aren't permitted. But their owner has a different view on the subject- and thats just the way it is.

It's all in the hands of the owners and the mods that they appoint, I guess. But at the same time, they are responsible for the fruit their site bears.

So can you post X on someones site? That depends on whether they allow it or not. One suggestion is to word your posts carefully so you don't cross the line, but enough for people to understand your view without taking offense.

A good practice is to read the forum's Code of Conduct and Terms of Service rules. It should be understood before joining a group that you are in agreement with them. As a board owner, I am always happy to have GOD's people join the group - but not merely to be argumentative or to push a doctrinal view that I can not accept.

I know that my personal views are not appreciated by the majority on this site - so I do not believe it is proper for me to try to push them.

Besides, isn't "debate" listed in Romans 1 as one of the signs of reprobacy?

I was banned from onlinebaptist.com for pointing out that most SouthernGospel groups use the same studio musicians as secular country and rock artists.

One of the mods was a big fan of Legacy 5 and Gold City. When I told him about this, he called me a liar, telling me how he knew all of these people personally and how they would never compromise with the world like that.

I showed him that what I said was true, using the artists own liner notes from their own albums and doing a cross reference on allmusic.com, a website that keeps records of such things.

He pitched a fit and banned me.

I'm on a 30 ban now for posting a link to a John MacArthur sermon in which he asks whether or not it's appropriate to evangelize Roman Catholics.

We're not allowed to question Roman Catholicism or express concerns about it in any way, but they're free to tell us that we can't be saved outside of their church and that we're not really Christians.

It's so funny (and you might want to share this with your friend) but I've been here longer than most of you (joined in Aug 2001) and when I first got here, I had run ins with everybody. I just couldn't believe how intolerant and idiotic and whatever the people were here.

Turns out, I was wrong. Outside of my church, this has been one of the most edifying experiences for me.

I've been taught. I've been encouraged. I've been rebuked. I've been exhorted.

I held a lot of ideas then that I realize now aren't Biblical. Because I had been a Christian (more or less) for thirteen years, I was too stubborn to see that I was wrong, but I was.

BaptistBoard has turned out to be a great "iron sharpening" experience for me and I'm grateful for it.

Go to ChristianForums and look at the General Apologetics forum sometime. It's gotten so bad and the mods are so lax that the Christians rarely even bother to go there anymore.

It's basically a safe haven for them to come and mock God.

At the other Baptist forum you mentioned, it sounds like you hit on the mod's pet peeves.

There was this one political forum I used to post one, never got banned, but the mods would ALWAYS move or close on any thread I posted on or made.

THAT place, where I ran away from. I was so sick of hearing about "same-sex marriage", Bush-bashing, and evolution from twenty-year-old European atheists.

Folks are usually tolerant of everthing and everyone but IFB KJVO folks. I am happy to be tolerantly intolerant.
