    From my wife and daughter-

*Gilbert Morris - By him, him and his daughter, him and anybody

    *Janette Oke

    *Tracie Peterson

    *Beverly Lewis

There are several more that they have read, but everybody is tired and can't think. Hope you find some that you like.

    In Christ,
    Trotter

Dan, I tried searching for 'Barabas' at Amazon.com and there were 290 hits! Can you give me any further clues?

Wife and daughter of Trotter, Thanks. I will look into these authors. I am sure I have read some books by Gilber Morris and Beverly Lewis, but I have never heard of Tracie Peterson.

"The Mark of the Lion" series by Francine Rivers is an outstanding Christian historical fiction series. Amazon has the 3 book set for $23.00, or I'm sure it's available in most libraries.

Hi, LucyLynn! I love historical fiction as well, and I can recommend some great ones to you. Some of my favorite historical fiction authors are Jane Kirkpatrick., B.J. Hoff and Francine Rivers.

Those are among the cream of the crop, in my opinion.

I have a page on my website devoted to Christian fiction, and I have several book reviews and recommendations there. Check it out at:

CJ is right! [IMG] The Mark of the Lion Series is one of my all-time favorites.

Also, the Emerald Ballad series by B. J. Hoff, as well as the American Anthem series she's in the middle of now ("Prelude" and "Cadence" are the first two in that series.) B. J. writes a lot about Ireland and Irish immigrants, and since I'm an Ireland freak, I love stuff like that.

No, I've never been to Ireland. :( It's my dream!

Bodie and Brock Thoene have a number of good historical dramas about the establishment of modern Israel and the plight of Jews & Believers during the time of the Holocaust

    On October 20, I said,
    Red face [IMG] -- I didn't remember - obviously - and it wasn't Barabas.

The Book "Malchus" by W. G. Griffiths - about the servant of the high priest - whose ear Peter severed in the garden.

    Great Book.

Most of those authors are really romance writers, I'd stay away from that stuff, just bad, bad stuff.

One book I really liked was The Weeping Chamber by Sigmund Brouwer. It's about the last week of Christ's life, from the perspective of a merchant that's trying to find Jesus to heal his daughter. Good book.

Janelle Burnham Schneider has written some really good historical stuff, but of the romance variety. She was a student of mine back in the 80's and a gifted writer.
