There are also posters that give the posterate a bad name. So what?

Sorry, just doing my part to get to page 20.

Which is exactly what the Pharisees did.

    What's the admonition about that?

Matthew 15:9: But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

It is not the lytics in most songs that is the issue. Although, even with some even the lyrics are an issue.

For instance, back in 98, my nephew was playing a ccm song that spoke of wading into a river. Very rocky. It was not until the last verse that one heard the name 'God' in the song. The Holy Spirit was not named, Jesus Christ was not named. Now, because of the music, the secular world eats songs like that up.

I listened through 3 verses and choruses before hearing God mentioned one time. Songs like that do not bring any more glory to God than Led Zeppelin's 'Stairway To Heaven.'

The music of these songs, as I said before, are worldly. They were worldly styles before being brought into the sanctuary. We are not to bring the world into the church.

Esther is part of the Word of God. These rock and roll songs, no matter what lyrics you put in them are still worldly junk.

The Bible tells us the Lord our God is a jealous God. He don't want second billing to the devil's music.

Where in the scripturt are we told to hold onto the world.

I think Sue was trying to show us something back a page or two ago when she mentioned Jubal. Jubal was of the offspring of Cain, whom God had cursed. Jubal was the one who was the first musician mentioned in the Bible.

It was also pointed out in the New Testament there is no mention of the New Testament church having musical instruments, but rather singing and melody in the heart to the Lord.

Get the worldly junk out of the sanctuary and you just may see the revival God wants you to see instead of a growth of more rock and roll fans.

There are also no mentions of anyone having a printed New Testament, or of anyone wearning pants, or of anyone driving a car, or using a computer.

Now, for what it's worth, there is mention of music being played in the early NT Church in extra-biblical writings.

Where on the Baptist Board has anyone advocated holding onto the world?

I think what others are suggesting is that, while you are free to decide for yourself what constitutes "worldy junk" and what does not, you are not free to hold anyone else to your standard.

I think what I am suggesting is that this thread is into the 20th page and should therefore be put out of its misery.

Putting gospel lyrics to a rock and roll song is just as bad as dropping you favorite food in a pile of dirt and picking it up and eating it because it has something good on the inside.

Regardless what you think, it is polluted.

    The splendor fo a King
    Clothed in Majesty
    Let all the earth rejoice
    Let all the earth rejoice

    He wraps himself in Light
    And Darkness tries to hide
    It trembles at his voice
    Trembles at his voice

    How great is our God
    Sing with me
    How great is our God
    All will see
    How great
    How great is our God

    Name above all names
    Worthy of all praise
    My heart will sing
    How great is our God

    How great is our God
    Sing with me
    How great is our God
    All will see
    How great
    How great is our God

    Then sings my soul
    My Savior God to thee
    How great thou art
    How great thou art

    Then sings my soul
    My Savior God to thee
    How great thou art
    How great thou art

    How great is our God
    Sing with me
    How Great is our God
    All will see
    How Great
    How Great is our God

Music is NOT neutral!! When you use the world's music and "tack on" Christian lyrics to it, you still have the world's music, which is Rock and Roll. The music must match the message. Ever hear "What a Friend We Have In Jesus" sung to the tune of "Let's Go Surfing Now"?

Whatever happened to psalms, hymns and spiritual songs that we used to sing in church--instead the world's music is coming into the church--SAD!

I would go one further, Brother Bob. Rock Music has no place in the believer's life.

</font>[/QUOTE]Since you now speak for Jesus, please tell me what is wrong with my ministry, or even my film? All you can do is base your opinions on the synopsis, which does not give away the plot of the movie by far. So please, enlighten me. Go ahead and tell me about myself, and my ministry. I'm sure you know more about it than I do.
