Christian is a very ambiguous term in our time. At one time it meant a follower of Christ. The term has been derisive in places where Christ is really followed. True Christians have been persecuted in every generation--Jesus told us this would happen. He also said there would be many false prophets--that if it were possible the very elect would be deceived.

Nominal Christianity is morphing. Compare the music at the rock concert bombed in England to the so-called Christian rock music so popular in many so-called Christian churches.

Will The Lord find The Faith when He returns? Perhaps not many. Compare our world to Sodom and Gomorrah also the Great Flood of Noah.

True Christianity is not dying--neither is Jehovah.

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

I pray that in the future churches are smaller, more intimate, more in the Word & less the gathering place social clubs they are now. When that finally happens, then we will be able to separate the wheat from the chaff, we will have a much more solid church that is truly faith bound to Christ.

As a father of a 6 and an 8 year old, I'm not sold on this line of thinking.

    1. It's a figure of speech. And the very act of him publishing a blog post shows that he's selling it. (Of course this isn't a bad thing, per se. He's doing his thing writing and I'm doing my thing critiquing. )

    2. Nope, never been to a primitive baptist church.

A quick google search showed 5 baptist churches total in the county I grew up in, and from the names only one wrung a bell. No primitive baptist churches that I could tell.

Since moving down south it's been ifb and sbc for me. I looked at a Mennonite church in Raleigh, but it was pretty much completely different than the one I grew up in. That was my introduction to "liberal" wings of certain denominations.

You could say I'm a cultural Pennsylvanian, since our TV stations came out of Johnstown and Altoona, and I listened to radio stations out of Pittsburgh. :Biggrin

Garrett County, MD. More PA or WV than MD.
