I don't have to. My whole neighborhood is lit up like the proverbial christmas tree. It's absolutely beautiful.

I know some folks really like them - not a fan of them myself. I enjoyed the nice subdued Christmas in Ireland for several years, but we are seeing the americanisation of Christmas with bigger and bigger displays of lights on houses in recent years.

Not trying to start a fight here ;) . House lights just aren't my favourite part of the season [IMG] .

I love to look at the lights. We take our daughters around several times during the season to look at them.

Between my office and our block we don't have to travel to see them, but in the past we did.

I like to look at them, too! We used to go to McAdenville when I was a kid, ever been there Saggy?

Anyway, my neighbors put out their decorations on Nov. 1st! Too soon for me! Let's see the last I counted was 15 of the huge blow-up characters are gracing their yard. At least they got the spirit. lol I hope they don't leave them up until Feb. like last year.

    Take care and happy light-looking!

    Linda

I haven't been thru McAdenville this season, but I know that the town had been bought out for condos, so I wasn't sure if they were doing lights. I heard they werent.

Our neighborhood is like a Winter Wonderland with all the Christmas lights. People come to see us!

WE love to look at the lights too. Our family tradition is to go out on Christmas Eve, with hot chocolate or cider in our travel mugs, warm blankets too, and look at lights. Some are walk thru. When we get home, they get to open one present.

Thats how we did it when I was a kid too.

I love the Christmas lights! Our children volunteer at a beautiful Christmas house down the street, passing out candy canes to vistors.

It was voted "Best Christmas House" in the USA a couple of years ago by the Today Show. It's quite impressive, with over 600,000 lights. If you have a chance, go visit the web site at www.clotxmas.com.

Donations are accepted (not for the $4,000 more in electricity), but for the Woman's Cancer Association of the University of Miami.

We went to Chickasha in 1997, really nice.
We have something similar it's called Warm Beach, it's real beautiful.

Put up our Christmas tree last Sunday. Put up our outside lights in our fruit trees yesterday and turned them on this evening.

Okay - I changed my mind, having a two year old grand daughter around has changed my perspective on lights [IMG] .

I love the Christmas lights also, Every time we go out, we drive different streets to see the lights. There are some areas where all the houses are decorated.
